He can easily perform at Stade de France if he wants. I saw journalist requesting him to add a second date to the event when seeing the tickets were almost getting finished. My nephew showed me that he had to wait for 50 minutes because the website being blocked since that there were so many people wanted to buy a ticket

our public is starting to develop that habit of buying quick, maybe because of the long ban and they missing, koffi also in his first u arena attempt had sold out in no time his capacity that he was alllowed(also the same 15k as dicap i think)
-
wasn't it 33k capacity for Koffi at U-Arena and the 15k or something like that for Fally's Bercy in 2020 ?
-
yes you are actually right koffi had 30k or something but this time both koffi and fally went for 15K configuration then maybe if its full they might get an upgrade
i am hearing koffi will perform in october, after wizkid

hahaha ndule ezongi elengi. Clan Wenge can't just sit like that. They need to organise a Wenge 4x4 reunion concert at U-Arena or Werrason planning a Wenge Maison Mère reunion over there with Bill, Lacoste, Celeo, JDT, Baby and co.
So Laurent Sokoko was right that Koffi will perform before Fally. It's just sad that koffi and fally aren't of the same generation otherwise they could do polemic properly about who getting biggest "plein". I'm only afraid that of the show of Koffi can easily getting sabotated compared to Fally. Because I noticed that the combattans didn't had made alot of videos against Fally for his show at U-Arena compared to Bercy, probably because of him talking with Macron. For Koffi's show they can easily write letters and start campaigns to get his show getting cancelled because of the multiple interviews dancers made about how they got mistreated and the cases he got with justice about that.

About the show, for me performing at U-Arena for just 15k seats doesn't make sense. Why not performing at Bercy then. This all just to be to have for the prestige to be the first Congolese artist to perform over there. Like the way we got scammed by Bercy's of 8000k in the 2000s, them all saying that those of Youssou Ndour and Alpha Blondy weren't a succes while they performed in full capacity and not like them in the 55% configuration. It explains why Werrason was more proud about Double Zenith than Bercy. I wonder why nobody of the 4 leaders tried to make a comeback at Bercy with progressively performing with a bigger configuration every year until performing with to the full 100%.
We could have been the first Africans to peform at U-Arena that, but the combattans messed everything up by getting Koffi's show cancelled and now Nigeria getting all credits with Burna Boy. We need to be quick for Stade de France, because with the succes Nigerian music is getting in Europe and America, I see either Burna Boy or Wizkid performing over there in 2025. Burna Boy will perform coming june in Olympic Stadium of London (capacity of 80.000).

This just shows that people want concerts back, an overwhelming majority want concerts back. As for this concert, I hope it’ll be a memorable one.
-
Wait is the ban lifted? Or are we actually going to have concerts this time?
-
Imagine if Fally was to do a Double U-Arena… he would be untouchable!
-

You do understand that it is not a competition which African artist performs first? Inserting Nigerian artists and wanting Congolese artists to be first to perform first at U-Arena is a bit childish. The competition is weird.
-
It's not weird. It's something that we call patriotism. Malian people are always proud about being the first Africans to win a Grammy Award. Camerooians in the past used to brag often about having the most AFCONS on their name and being the best in soccer until Egypt passed them. People coming from Martinique and Guadeloupe are proud of Kassav about the way they created Zouk and about how the succes of Kassav opening the way for French-speaking artists from Africa and the West Indies to be more mainstream in France. The same way how Congolese people like to be pioneers in on the music-scene of Paris. Tabu Ley being the first sub-saharian artist to perform at Olympia and Koffi Olomidé being the first artist to perfrom at Bercy.
Paris is since the 1980s an important city for artists coming from DR Congo, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Senegal, Guinee and the French West Indies. In the past there used to be some rivalery in a good way about who being in first in performing x or y in Paris or doing x or in the music-scene in Paris. From there it gave birth to awards like Maracas d'Or, AfriCar Awards (of Yves Zogbo Junior & Consty Eka) and the Kora Awards. A good example is the rivalry of Zaiko against Kassav.

About the concert yesterday Paris La Defense Arena posted on their Facebook page that they added 10.000 tickets because of the way the tickets went fast. I think that Fally will end up by performing in the full 100% configuration because he has a huge fanbase and many in Europe want concerts back.

did not they remove that later? I saw ndombolhino saying that fally himself asked them to remove it because he realised that the marketing strategy they pulled about sold out and all that could turn dangerous if he upgrades and they dont fill the places
-
Yeah I dont see that message anymore on their official facebook page. But going to the website I still see the new configuration and all tickets being available except the diamond one. Maybe Fally doesn't want to get humilated by facebook-pages and youtube-channels that dont support since that has a big pride. It could be they changed the strategy and slowly upgrade it until they achieved the real 75% of the capacity and from there starting to post about new tickets, etc.
Anyway the thing that matters is that he perform there and Koffi aswell and maybe some Stade de France and Parc des Princes in the future with the rest following by doing Olympia's, Zenith's and eventually Bercy's, also shows for but na filet, fabregas and robinio at la cigale, dock eiffel, le trianon. Just to bring our music back where it was because the concert-ban blocked the evolution. It will indirectly change the atmosphere in Kinshasa and upgrade concerts.

Is there a leader of combatants that can be negotiated with or bribed to allow concerts to come back? In America, rappers "check in" with OGs of L.A. in order to perform in the cities venues without problems from gangs and such. Does that exist in Europe for Congolese artist?

Werra seems to have spoken with some in a meeting in london

Looks like the combattans in London dont have the same power since Felix Tshisekedi came in power. Many also returned back to Kinshasa. I saw some people saying on social media that it were not real combattans but those of UDPS. But they forgot that it were actually UDPS-supporters that started the concert-ban of London in 2006 by blocking JB Mpiana's concert because of being totally against the presidential elections of 2006 and that everybody sung either for Kabila or Bemba not having the right to perform because of supporting "the occupation", "1+4", etc. etc. Then Apareco supporters who started the stuff of wearing military clothes also adopting it along with those who were for Bemba and them all being against concerts in London. It was like a domino-effect, them in Brussels and Paris also wanting to do the same thing. Them starting blocking Werrason's first concerts of the 2006-07 tour. But after negoiations they lifted the ban. The concertban back didn't really work yet because of some combattans still being involved in the music-world and being pro-koffi, pro-jb, etc. which made it diffcult. But with the years going on, awarness about the situation in DR Congo started to grow and people in Europe were fed up with the label of Congolese people only being focused on music and sape. At the same time you also many who were unhappy about the way bandleaders/musicians had treated them in the years 1998-2006. Them having supported artists financially, giving clothes, cars, giving them a place to sleep in their house. But seeing their lives being ruined because of musicians having made their daugthers pregnant when sleeping at their house in Europe or having an affair with their wives, musicians not receiving them in Kinshasa while being important for the tour, etc. So this all created a big bomb that was becoming bigger with the years and finally in 2011 when Werrason tried to perform at Elysee Montmartre, the concert ban being started.
The problem with the combattans is that there isn't one leader. There are different groups. They tried to reunited all groups but it created of conflicts about them accussing each other about receiving money from Kinshasa which was also truth. Them all having used money from Kinshasa. You will notice that in the first 2 years politicians had to hide themselves when coming to Europe or wear like women, to not getting beaten by combattans and their children also not feeling save and even being threatened at home. Then after that it became silent because of politicians giving them secretly a big amount of money and them sharing it with each other. Guys like Boketshu making a big business from it in Belgium. Combattans then shifting the focus on bandleaders, the bandleaders who sung for Kabila doing the same thing like politicians and them being allowed by combattans to move free through Europe. While after the 3 days PPRD-Congres at Stade des Martyrs (which more like a music festival), combattans came with a list of an interdiction for artists that sung for Kabila to come to Europe. Werrason then being the biggest target, websites and facebook-pages posting a kind of an arrest-warrant when Werrason would come to Europe or artists like Reddy having to run for their lives when coming at their home.
Because of no leader being there, is the reason why it was difficult to bring music back in all the years. Because x would be in favour but y being against when negoiating. Around 2012-13, there was a idea to let Ferre, Fally, etc. who didn't sing for Joseph Kabila to let them tour in Europe. But many were against (mostly those who used to support musicians back in the days) and them only agreeing with them having showcases and small events with europe-based artists, but not a really concert backed by a band. Nyboma has a platform with journalist/presentator Rouph Mbuta-Nganga called Kongo Sebene and they tried their best to get concerts back but it didn't work. They only succeed in allowing European based artists to do "Kossa-Kossa" shows (for example Chez Djonga, Tapis Rouge, etc. in Europe. Because that was first also forbidden by combattans.
Bringing music by force back also didn't work. We all shaw what happened with JB Mpiana in 2013 and the amount of combattans back then being bigger (around 8000) than those wanting to go the concert (probably also due to the fear). In the years coming rivals also being engaged in sabotating those events along with their fans, bandleaders giving money to combattans and calling them. For example Heritier's Olympia. Combattans also using the strategy of writing letters to the mayor, police and musichall, which would make them cancel events on the day itself or a few days before like we saw with Ferre's Casino de Paris and Fally's La Cigale.

Why do you think that that concerts coming back would change the atmosphere in Kinshasa?
-
The concert-ban made many artists that used to tour often to Europe being on the same level with artists that weren't going abroad. Now even big names sometimes perform with an entrance of 2 coca cola bottles which is very humiliating. Also since the concert-ban started, artists dont give their best anymore in concerts Kinshasa. The level of concerts dropped alot. Just look to concerts of artists giving when coming back from Europe-tour or just before going to Europe and compared them with concerts of today. Its one of the reasons why people are not really motivated to go to concerts next to the reason of kuluna's (which only getting worser everyday). In most VIP-concerts people just come, because of receiving an invitation. Hence why fans of bands often claim about vip concerts of their rivals at for example village chez ntemba, showbuzz or rotana just being for free because 80%/90% of the people being invited a not being bought a ticket.

Spot on. You are right. I believe Felix Wazekwa's career would have been different from what it is today should he have continued from where he left at Olympia.
