I think that this Trace Awards is different from the edition of 2013 & 2014 who were based on tv-channel Trace Urban. Looks like this one will unite everything in (Trace Tropical, Trace Urban, Trace Kitoko, Trace Naija & Trace Gospel) and being focused on just the Francophone world.
Reading the article it looks like this awards will properly showcase the diversity of the music-genres in Africa and maybe also West-Indies (like when the AfriCar Awards of Consty Eka & Yves Zogbo Junior existed in the 1990s) through its categories, which wasn’t really the case the few African awards that existed the last 10/15 years. With the awards being in Rwanda, I only wonder if Congolese artists will show up. Rwanda is really smart by buying the awards, they know how to promote themselves. They are everywhere, recently they organized. I think that over 10 years they will be next to Ghana, Kenya & Gambia getting many tourists, for the way they are promoting themselves with Visit Rwanda.
