Gaz Mawete’s concert at La Cigale was a succes. There were many guests Fally Ipupa, Singuila, Niska, Franglish, Ya’Lewis, Chily, Ntaba2London and Tidiane Mario

Before the show started those who are against Gaz Mawete, because of being close to Fally Ipupa, were sharing videos of the hall when it was empty and artists doing the first part, on social media (Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. However, they became silent when videos were shared when the hall was full of people. The fans of Fally, making comments that Gaz Mawete is better than Fabregas, La Cigale is bigger than Casino de Paris (to taunt Fabregas), etc. In the morning many Congolese Facebook and Instagram pages shared the event, saying that it’s a victory for Congolese urban music.
2 Years ago Gaz Mawete said that he would perform at Olympia in 2025. When he said that, I saw him as crazy. But seeing him filling La Cigale easily without huge promotion, makes me think that it possible for 2026 or 2027 with a successful single or great album. It is important to note that Gaz Mawete has a different public than Heritier Watanabe and Fabregas. Majority that went to the concert are those who are born here and/grew up here, teenagers and youngsters in the 20s
