Vieux Djess saying that when Reddy Amisi was recording Etoile, he one day called him, because he wasn't seeing him in the studio anymore while he normally used to be there every day. So after getting the call, he took the metro and came at studio Marcadet. When Djess arrived at the studio, he saw many cars, people outside and inside and Djess wondering if it was because of Reddy starting to do the shouts-outs. When came inside the studio where Reddy was he recorded, he saw Koffi with his blonde haircut and two of his dancers. Djess was mad of seeing Koffi (back then Koffi and Wemba weren't in good terms anymore), so he took Reddy apart and they went to another place, to ask why he invited Koffi for his album. Reddy then replying by "what do except, he came here to sing, I'm the one who invited him to sing" to the question of Djess "what is Koffi doing here". Djess reacting surprised and said "Did you tell it to Wemba" and Reddy replying by "Why should I ask it him. I'ts my album, not the album of him. I must choose the person that I would like to sing with, to stop some kind of monotony". But Djess then again replying "But you had to say it to Wemba", then Reddy suddenly saying to people that were around "Friends, look at this person that comes from Kinshasa, who's asking me about what the person that shows people the way (reffering to Koffi who had done Olympia & Zenith at time and got the nickname 'the guide') is doing here'. But the same people saying that that it's not only his album, but that of Viva la Musica and not being happy to see Koffi present, but not seeing a way how to say it to him. Immediately, Djess called Wemba, who was already sleeping, to inform that Koffi was participating to Reddy's album and if he knew it. Papa Wemba saying that he didn't know it that he doesn't had to be mad and just let Koffi sing. After calling Papa Wemba, Djess immediately went to Reddy and said that he called Wemba, which created a bad atmosphere.
After the recordings, the album Etoile out. But it flopped very hard. The album was selffunded by Reddy and bought by Ndiaye, who released it the market. Back at that time, Reddy Amisi was one of the artists that was selling alot when releasing his albums and the public apart Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba and Wenge Musica, also waiting for Reddy Amisi's album. Ndiaye took 50.000 cd's but almost non of these cd's sold and making a huge loss, having alot of regret. Because of the flop, Ndiaye started at some point after two years, to distribute the cd's for free to people, when the album started to be forgotten. Those who received the albums were surprised and discovered that Etoile was actually a great album. From then people started to ask about how to order the album. But it was already to late. It took a big toll on Reddy's career

The interview made me think about some interviews I saw the past about those crazy street-rumors about Koffi having finished Reddy Amisi, late Shora Mbemba and Isiro 1er spiritually. For example, the one Camionette Mbola once made explaining that he was one of the guys that influenced Fally to not let Koffi participate to Droit Chemin, hinting to the time when he used to be Reddy Amisi's bodyguard, that Koffi did something spiritual to Reddy when being in studio what made him curse the album. Him doing his best to avoid Koffi participating to Droit de Chemin, by giving Fally some strategies while Koffi tried to insist of participating. In an interview Beniko Popolipo did, he explained that when he was in Quartier Latin, Koffi was at some point becoming mad about Reddy's succes and hearing his songs everywhere, also saying that the next time Beniko should not participate to his album (Popolipo participated on the Prudence album). Around 2006-07, Reddy said to an interview that some artists weren't happy with the huge succes he had in the past and that they are exposing themselves. In the same period, Koffi used to say that fame doesn't mean anything, because you had Reddy in the past, who used to have crazy crowds in concerts with walls falling down and people started to die, but today he's nowhere. Around 2013-14, a journalist asked Reddy Amisi why he and Koffi didn't record a clip for the song C'est Plus Fort Que Moi and Reddy becoming mad, replying that Koffi know what he did and why he didn't record the videoclip. two or three years, later Reddy Amisi once again attacked, when getting interviewed by Papy Mboma. By saying that that Madilu once revealed to him, when he had succes with Prudence, that Koffi wasn't happy of his fame and asked him, if there's a possibility to finish him spiritually.

when coming to the featerings he made with Koffi (Dit Landry and C'est Plus Fort Que Moi). Reddy once said in the many interviews he did with Naty Lokole, that he recorded one with Koffi, because he always kept saying that Koffi Olomide brought him to Viva la Musica, when getting recruiting in 1982. But journalists and people always doubting it and wondering why they never have sung together, if it was really the case. To have some kind of a souvenir, and not knowing what tomorrow would bring, he decided to invite him to his album

Didn't Koffi also give Reddy the song 'Destin ya Moto'?

According Reddy Amisi's own words, he just took Koffi's song (they used to rehearse together before him joining Viva), but when Papa Wemba was about to release his album, Koffi got rumored in Kinshasa to have passed away because of AIDS and then contacted Reddy that he wanted to release the same song in reaction to the rumors and that they had to credit his name of the album. However, people still claims that it Reddy's song and him not wanting to admit out of respect, like some songs his gave to Papa Wemba.
