It honestly sucks that Koffi never released it due to Academia forming, it’s like we can’t compare it to his other zenith shows or Jb’s, Werra, Wemba, Emeneya’s Zenith to see which one was the best one.
All the musicians that participated in the Zenith show all said that the concert was nothing special and that Olympia was much better and their Zenith concert was like their other concerts in Kin, but from the extracts released the concert looks great. I wonder if Koffi himself has the full concert in a vault somewhere.

Theo Badoana's team filmed the concert. People that used to film concerts often save the footage. But in Theo's case it's complicated, he's now in the business and management world since several years, also African people have the reputation to not being good in conserving archives
If Koffi had it, he would already have put some extracts, when the polemique with Fally started or when he started to promote U-Arena. Also Koffi is a person that does not like to talk about the past, he's more into to focussing in the present. It's only since last year that he started doing it, when those youtube-journalists supporting Fally, started to insult him and minimise all his effort of +40 years music career, Koffi replying by posting the few footages of his old glories (concerts, trophees, etc.)

On the end, it's still a shame that there was never a full VHS of Zenith 1998. The press of France talked more about this event than the event at Olympia. I hope that someone uploads the remaining reportages/images of Olympia, Zenith and Olympia
Talking about Zenith '98. I don't remember if it was Gentamicine or Mosaka, but during the 13eme Apotre-era, they claimed that Koffi didn't release the footage because he was ashamed of it when seeing JB's Zenith and that that was the reason why they did Zenith several times, because of not being able to equal it, just to justify on the same moment the question why they didn't do alot of Zenith's like Werrason lol. You had then also BCBG-fanatics taking it serious hahaha

LOL that doesn’t make any sense because Koffi performed did Zenith in November 1998 and JB did Zenith in Summer 99, so why would he wait for Jb to release first lol

From my understanding, the Zenith footage from 98 does exist… Someone has it. With all the uploads every few years someone has the full footage, no one wants to step up and release the full footage.

The last hope is that someone of Congovibes wins the lottery and goes to Brazzaville, to vist Tele Congo and ask them if he can buy the footage that they filmed at Zenith 1998. The only thing is that their video of the event is not professional. Otherwise just search for Theo Badoana and ask if he has still videos of events he filmed in the past and if he can give the tape he filmed that day at Zenith.

Not only are we missing footage from the 1998 zenith, we are missing footage from the 2 2003 zeniths and the 2007 zenith. Its unfortunate how koffi didn't care to release footage of most of his zenith concerts

The footage of Zenith 2007 exists, but it's extremely rare. Back in 2008, after that Werrason had done his Zenith that year, journalist had an interview with Werrason in a believe in the shop of KassaMoto and there was a point that Sankara went to talk, praise their Zenith and mock Koffi, saying that his Zenith of previous year was mpiaka and that that was the reason why the DVD never got released. . Francis Kakonde then reacted by going to a shop in Brussels where he went to show to people that what Sankara said wasn't true and the DVD exists.
The thing with footages is that artists back in days afterperforming always used to sell their images. Sometimes to big labels/recordcompanies/tv-channels, for example Koffi sold his image of Bercy to MCM Africa and that of Olympia and Zenith to his label Sonodisc (but himself not wanting them to release Zenith '98 and deciding to come those short extracts), Werrason selling Double Zenith, Bercy and Stade des Martyrs-shows (2000, 2001 & 2003) to his label JPS Production, etc. But artists sometimes also selling their images to normal producers like Jacky de Piolani NCI for Zenith 2001. Sometimes it happens that some producers only bring a limited copies on the market, which makes some concerts being extremly rare. For example, look how rare the image of Papa Wemba's first Zenith (1999) is, which released in two volumes or his event at Stade des Martyrs to celebrate his 50th birthday. There are also concerts where the concertpromoter comes with a contract where there no filming, for example the 100-euros concert that Badive wanted to produce of Werrason vs Koffi Olomide in 2007. But the event got sadly canceled.

I think that 2007 zenith dvd may have been a stunt unless he actually played the DVD? I’m just very skeptical because how does no one have footage of these big events if they were released on DVD before despite the low print? We’ve gotten more rare concerts in smaller venues, but we can’t find the zeniths? It’s so odd
