As anyone with clear sight can see, Koffi is a the end of his career. He's forcing everything to stay relevant when he could just retire and let the next generation continue. His best days were the 90s and early 2000s. Why is this man torturing himself with endless defeats?
-
simple answer,he is from a country where you have to always prove you exist to get some real respect,no wonder why everytime he hinted at retirment he changed his mind
-
he can keep himself relevant by putting out and producing artist starting with Jr33 cuz he got a wonderful voice
-
That Legende album wasn’t good.
-
Why is it only in Congo we ask for our legends to retire. He doesn’t have to retire.
-
For real he doesn’t need to retire and he’s still very much relevant and he still does put out good music here and there.

Thank you. I see Americans and uk legends touring even and no one asking for them to retire but in Congo we want ours to retire early as if is a Monday to Friday job 😂

If the retirement suggestion is based on the music he has been releasing then I guess 95% of the musicians in Congo should retire cause really they haven’t been any mouthwatering projects in the recent years. Koffi still got it cause really there isn’t any competition.

Is there any up and coming Congo artists these days? I hardly see any besides the Fally and Ferre.

Unfortunately, don’t know. Personally i want Blana, Heritier and Ibrator to suceed. I hope one of Ferre Jet Set guys could get a solo career.

We can't blame the country for this. This is on Koffi himself ans his HUGE ego.
Koffi should bow dow gracefully, like Bozi and them did when they understood that it was over.
Koffi is risking to have a very pitiful end of career.

Not retiring, Koffi has a huge catalog and he can tour with it or whatever.
But his days as one of the top, dog are gone, but he refused to believe it and he keeps fighting with young bulls.
If he really wants to remain in the race, he should produce one his musician, but he refuse to do that.

Koffi is on some vince carter shit at this point staying in the league for the sake of it atleast vince retired lol

There's no other quick way to gain money, buy new cars and build houses, accepting 30k or 50k from fans/donors that dream to have a song dedicated to them on the market. Should he refuse it if there are more than 10 ? Bozi Boziana who's 73 old and also has a big catalogue, keeps releasing new albums and performing, but why is nobody attacking him ? Why is nobody attacking Nyoka Longo who's 71 years old and about to release an EP with his band ?
People need to stop blaming Koffi, people need to blame the new generation for not being able to release good albums and songs, being only focused on insulting rivals, their family-members and exposing their private-life. The way people keep dancing on Papa Mobimba during weddings and parties like it's a new generique, already show how incapable the new generation is in producing proper generique's. If we were in 2005, people would have forgotten Koffi like the way Papa Wemba went on the background in the mid 2000s. But Koffi is lucky to live an era where good music is basically death.
The same people that wants him to retire, will be the first to mock him being finished like the way people did to Emeneya and Papa Wemba, when they were alive

Because Bozi and Nyoka Longo aren't putting out hot garbage. Sure, their recent catalog doesn't hold a candle to their past work but effort is still being put in.

To call Koffi songs hot garbage is not right. Yes, his songs do not have the standard of his past work but we are talking about a singe with more than 50 years career. About what should he sing after all the years….

The legendary reggae Icon Winston Rodney with the Burning Spear band just had a successful African tour at the age of 79 years. Donc Koffi is still too young to retire. Botika ye dit!

What many people hate about Koffi is the way he lives his personal life. He has failed to live like the elder he has become. Outside his personal life, Koffi is an African super star whether you hate it or not. Sometimes i do say if he lived his life like Ya Jossart, he would be more respected but again I conclude may be he would not be the super star he is. Koffi just needs to minimise drama around his personal life, sideline Cindy and operate with a proper band like he used to and all these unnecessary calls shall cease.

Last weekend I went to Kisumu to attend Koffi/Zaiko concert. I was happy that my prayers to witness Zaiko perform was finally answered and yes, Zaiko came on stage and we witnessed what experience is all about. One hour only but man, that was good music. People were happy. Then came the time for Koffi and the controversy started. Lights went off with no signs that Koffi was coming. People started throwing water bottles to the stage, they started chanting Koffi's name and after like 15 minutes Koffi appeared on the stage a lone with a mobile phone in hand recording jubilant fans. He never performed and guys went home happy, I couldn't tell why but people love him with his weaknesses. Haha people just wanted to see him even without performing.

Its not about age but the quality of music. Quality-wise koffi is finished.

By that logic Bill, Celeo, Fabregas, Werrason, Robinio, should all retire too then…
