Is he holding a grudge towards Nseka for accepting Fally's offer to go Europe or is he not informed about his death ?
-
Let's not read too much into it at the moment, it's possible he wasn't aware at the time because it's still not breaking news but at the same time news like that travels fast so I don't know.
-
If he knows about his death and does not mention it, it has more likely to due with their fallout years prior to Fally getting Nseka into Europe. However I am with CM Prince, that probably Koffi was not informed yet. He will probably do a tribute post to him or so I hope so.

Hows everyone on social media in the Congolese community aware & not him? He would’ve definitely known before it hit social media whether they fell out or not

Guys, not qll things are for social media, Mimiche Bass Maison Mere Bassist passed away some time ago, Ferre didn't post about his death for a while on social media and because Mimiche was like his brother...
Sometimes people just want to grief in peace and without social media knowing what they feel about the person passing.

It's not about Koffi not posting about Nseka. The thing is that Nseka passed away and Koffi a few hours later posting about the event at Hippodrome. It's a weird action and he also didn't delete it afterwards. Looks like he's still angry about the stuff that happened in 2006, how Zoulou's helped dancers run away while Nseka was safeguarding them and the dancers later sueing Koffi for rape, which made him not come to Europe for years.
Some people talked about Koffi posting the video during Nseka's death in the comments, the day he posted it (I don't know if the comments are still there), but Koffi-fanatics defending him, saying that he became a warrior (fally-fan), forgetting everything Nseka did for Quartier Latin since he joined in 1988 and his comeback in 1991 till Abacadabra. He never ran away during all the Europe-tours he participated on, he also informed Koffi about everything, snitched on collegues, also did dirty mission for Koffi also against rivals (that I will not mention here). Also he used to safeguard the dancers at Koffi's house in France during Europe-tours. Next to it, he was the first one who openly disagreed about Fally doing an album in Quartier Latin, shouting all loud during the reunion.
Nobody knows that the songs Nseka released under his name in Quartier Latin are at SACEM credited on Koffi's name like other QL-members that released songs in QL-albums and Koffi getting royalties from it every 6 months until this day

All these years later, why hasn't SACEM given the royalties to the members of Quartier Latin? I'm surprised they haven't sued because there's numerous videos where Koffi and the artist differentiate group albums from solo albums. A lawsuit to renegotiate their share of those songs shouldn't be too challenging, I'm surprised no one has sued a long time ago.
What about Fally? He is the most known and financially successful member of Quartier Latin, did he ever manage to secure the rights to his songs on group albums or does Koffi still profit from them today?
Why do group albums if you won't share the royalties lol just make all of the albums solo albums

Koffi will be guest of sango israel today he'll surely be asked about his lack of tribute to passe kosse and seguin

Koffi is not the only one that does that. There was a video on youtube, where almost all bandleaders were exposed of crediting songs of their bandmembers to themselves in SACEM.
Releasing solo-albums is something that is recent. Back in the days it was rare to see bandleaders release solo-albums. They would often do it during Europe tours who were there once in the 2 or in some cases 4 years. When releasing albums it was mostly a LP with 4 songs, where 2 tracks were credited to the bandleaders and the remaining two to bandmembers. The same when LP’s with 6 songs started to get released (3 songs for the bandleader and the remaining 3 to the bandmembers). Solo-albums were mostly for Europe-based artists that tried to make a name in Congolese community living in Brussels and those who tried to establish themselves in Kinshasa (Koffi Olomide is one of them). There also those who disappeared from the music-scene and then decided to record a solo-album to make a comeback (for example Lita Bembo in the 1980s). You had also those who were bandmembers and wanted to make quick money, by recording a solo-album, them in most cases getting suspended once returning in Kinshasa, like the way they were often punished in Kinshasa after secretly recording a single or doing a nzong-nzing with other artists. Only artists from Choc Stars had such freedom to record solo-albums and do nzong-nzings.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr7as84Ue8U&t=326s
When Viva la Musica settled in Europe, bandmembers were also free to release solo-albums. But it was still rare to see bandleaders that had success in Kinshasa to release solo-albums every year. Someone like Nyoka Longo has until this day just no solo-album. It’s with Koffi’s influence after he became big, that bandleaders started to structure their album-releases, by releasing one year a group-album and the other year a solo-album and not more releasing 2 or 3 albums in one year of 8 or 6 tracks with songs that are divided between them and bandmembers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE5olTj9WeQ
Bandleaders did release group-albums, because next to showing the talents of their bandmembers, it also contributed to boosted their success even more. If they weren’t giving that opportunity and adopted Fally’s strategy in the 1990s, then most of them would already have been finished and a new generation of artists having replaced them. I think that there would not have been Olympia, Zenith’s and Bercy’s, unless an artist having the luck to do world-music and being boosted very hard by his label, like you had Cesaria Evora from Cape Verde, Alpha Blondy of Ivory Coast or Khaled from Algeria and have discipline that Wemba lacked to have when working with Martin Meissonier (There were projects to perform in the future at Palais des Sports and Olympia, but the contract got cut off, because of Wemba refusing to stop singing in the community and albums of his bandmembers. He was lucky to sign with Peter Gabriel later, but there was no project to hit the mythic halls of Paris).

Former’ Victoria Eleison drummer Signore Depatra Uomo said in an interview with Teddy Mola, that the Olympia’s, Zenith’s and Bercy’s that Koffi, Wemba, JB, Werra, Emeneya and Adolphe did are not theirs but the work of streetsbands like Promise Musica, SVP La Gamme and co, that tried to succeed like Wenge 4x4, but didn’t get the opportunity and just joined their bands.

Bouro Mpela said when rejoining Quartier Latin after 13eme Apotre, that he had a huge contribution on Koffi finishing his swimming pool at Montfleury for the way, he danced in the Loi-clips. I don’t know if it was Miette Shegue or Nono ba Diamants, but one of them said that its because of them (the dancers) that Koffi was able to finish his villa of Montfleury and that they had a big contribution of Koffi’s fame.

Don't you think that Cindy also have some influence over it. Because I noticed that Koffi changed alot these last years and is also less forgiving now compared to the past

I was gonna say the same thing, Koffi used to be so forgiving and has forgiven musicians or dancers for far less but nowadays seems to really hold a grudge against people. Even the Passe Kosse he indirectly fired him from the group and never explained why and even Passe Kosse didn’t know what he did so how can he expect him to remain a pro Koffi guy lol

just watched his interview with sango,he really has changed in terms of grudge,he was quite agressive at some point when asked about seguin and completely avoiding mentioning jb because jb did not send him condolences for mama amy and papa charles, and still is firing shots at sam tshintu for sam saying that koffi came himself to recruit him and so on
but anyways with congolese musicians anything is good publicity at the end of the day,it was not even over that some parts were already on socials
i think the level of insult that generation of internet woman had towards him about mama amy is what really turned him that radical, and literally reignited every single of his hidden grudges, notice how its from the same periods also onwards that he started going hard on popolipo despite popolipo expressing his upset about him for more than 10 years and he was even clearly saying in the past that he wishes popolipo can forgive him and come and play on one of his albums again and now he rubbishes popolipo and says tyson is far superior and so on

It is becoming quite sad now. He is almost or close to 70 years old, he is one of the biggest musicians and singers and songwriter in Congo and in Africa, why does he keeps behaving like this? I can understand him holding grudge against JB despite that being missed up, but not really.the grudge towards Passe Kosse, why do Congolese leaders always fail to mention 100 things good you have done for them but then wanting to hold grudge for one "bad" thing you have allegedly done? With that said If Passe Kosse was thr factor or one of the leaving factor of people accusing him of rape I can understand his grudges.

You know what I kinda understand, a loss of a parent let alone two in a few years apart does change you. Also the fact his father died in Europe whilst he was stuck in Congo played a part and Mama Amy usually kept Koffi grounded so the fact that she's not there probably made him lose it. Him also losing his golden children Didi Stone, St James rolls and Delpirlo also didn't help matters I'm sure.

Koffi-fans claims on Tiktok that Fally brought Nseka to Europe, in the hope to re-open the case with the dancers and use Nseka to tesify against Koffi, in order to prevent Koffi performing in Europe ever again. Maybe that Koffi was speculating the same thing behind the scenes, which probably explains why he came with the teaser, the day that Nseka died and his short reponse to Sango, when being asked about Nseka.
At the same time there was much drama. Suzuki claiming that they prevented former Quartier Latin-members and Koffi to visit Nseka in the hospital. But it got quickly denied by former Big Stars and Dymanique Asha bass-player Jean Lous Bikunda

This is insane, I don’t think Fally would go that far to sabotage Koffi but then again you never know with these leaders lol. About the the former quartier latin musicians I haven’t seen many of them even comment or post anything about Nseka, are some still holding a grudge over his snitching days?

I found it also strange. Because when Babia died, almost everyone made an interview. Maybe it's because of Nseka being an instrumentalist. But talking about the grudge, I think that Tshe-Tshe le Balle or someone else once said that Koffi sended Nseka to challenge Academia spiritually and Sam making the mistake about thinking that he was visiting them in a friendly way.
Talking about Babia's death, maybe they saw it as a great way to gain money, because his death created alot of buzz and there was alot of money involved. Back then there were not many youtube-channels like now and Tiktok didn't exist. So once someone does an interview, he would receive many phone-calls, donors and people that feel sorry giving money. Some also doing matolo during the mourning and funeral. Babia's brother recently revealed that musicians acted like they went to get Babia corpse from the Congo-Angola broder at Lufu, while they were just waiting at the road sign "Aurévoir Kinshasa". Looks like the ministry of culture doesn't put money anymore at funeral of artists, since Shakakongo passed away. The National Order of the Leopard also not giving posthum medals anymore. For example, Nono atalaku passed away just before Shakakongo, but is funeral was months later and he was Congo's first atalaku, but didn't receive a posthum medal for his work. Someone like Doudou Adoula deserve a medal for his work his did for +30 years.

Does the President appoint the Minister of Culture or is it an elected position? What do you think that bureau should do to better protect the artist aside from giving medals and paying for funerals? I feel like aside from the corruption that's common in government, the actual minister doesn't really know how to help musicians because he himself is not one
-
"The Ministry of Culture is not in charge of awarding medals. That responsibility lies with the National Order of the Leopard, which grants them to soldiers and civilians. It includes various sections, such as the Ordre du Mérite Agricole, Ordre de Mérite Civique, Croix de Bravoure, Ordre du Mérite Sportif, Croix Militaire, and Ordre du Mérite Arts, Sciences et Lettres, among others."
Congo is normally a semi-presidential republic like friends France, which is normally a balance between the president and prime-minister (but you know how Congo is). The President appoints the Prime Minister. The PM proposes ministers and the president appoints them. When coming to the minister of Culture, those who are appointed, have mostly not any experience with culture. Also the budget they receive is among the lowest from all ministries. So what almost all ministers of cultures does is just stealing money. Those coming from the art-section, painters and actors also complain that when it comes to culture, the focus always go to musicians (for example within Socoda) when its time to share peanuts and when for example an actor, writer or painter die, no any attention being there.
The ministry of Culture should organize festivals. How is it possible that a huge country as Congo doesn’t have a big music festival like Fespam in Brazzaville or Femua in Ivory Coast nor a festival to celebrate Rumba, which now on the Unesco list. Actors of the Salongo-generation always say that they inspired actors from the French-speaking countries (which I doubt alot), but there’s no film-festival like you used to have every year in Ouagadougou when Blaise Compaoré was in power. There also no any annual festival that celebrate our diversity in ethnicities/tribes. Really strange.
The ministry of Culture should support upcoming artists through, funding a structure in each province that helps to develop the music, literature, film and theatre industry. Also building musichalls and studio’s in cities like Mbandaka, Kananga, Lodja, Kisangani, Isiro, Kamina, Lisala, Kalemie, etc. I don't know if there is a modern studio in Kisangani today, but back in the time of Zaire, many artists who were based there, had to travel to Uganda to record songs there. Some even stayed and created bands over there. Talking about the creation of structures, the problem with the creation of such structures is that Congolese people have now a different mentality and will probably steal money. Look at Barbara Kanam and Didier Masela they have a structure called “fonds de promotion culturel”, which is created to fund local artists, but did have heard any positive feedback ?
The ministry of culture also should put money in the promotion of the film and music industry abroad and start partnerships with South American, Asian and European countries.

I don’t think it’s due to Nseka being an instrumentalist because when Lebou died the whole QL clan did tributes to him including Koffi who did an IG post. They were all doing interviews with some members even crying on camera, but Passe Kosse it’s strange how quiet they are seeing as he’s one of the very few to have been with every QL generation.
Also about Babia you might be right because before Babia died the Europe based QL singers were rarely almost never performed together at those small halls and bars but after Babia died they started doing it constantly till now. Even Fally came to perform with them for once of Babia’s memorials which gained a lot of attention.

I think Babia's death shook everyone because of how young he was (he's only three years older than Fally). He was respected vocalist and well liked among his peers – even Koffi was hurt by his passing. It ended the severity of any beef that still lingered. I'm not saying they're best of friends but they're more cognizant of how unpredictable life is and the memories they made together...a lot of memories that we as fans are greatful for and the opportunities that brought them to Europe.

i think lowkey the clan latino is now divided in two around fally like the maison mere one is around ferre
champion has been doing the role late passe kosse was famous for,in reporting everything true or false the other guys of his generation or the previous said about fally,so a lot of guys are reluctant to get associated directly like fally because they are upset with champion's behaviour, and dont want to be under full order of somebody, you'll notice that even the guys from the martyrs invitation only those he brought to europe stayed openly close, not that the rest has a particular problem with fally, but seems most are not liking the fact they are supposed to be under some control,so you'll have some of the noisiest people of the latino family like suzuki who will pop out to say something controversial
from what i can see and hear behind the scenes a lot of the guys do not like champion's cryptic messages about how they should all create a block under fally's power and kinda exposing them for not coming to join and stuff like that so the most mature might keep it silent like a sam or a modogo but then you might get a suzuki or a jordan kusa if asked speaking out saying something controversial
somebody like jipson even had to defend himself several times in his interviews since he's back in kin that he allegedly said that fally would flop at all his recent big concert

Lol, this is giving MPR-vibes hahahaha

The only thing missing is Fally sitting on a trone, Champion singing for him and former QL-members doing the chorus.
