I didn't had time to write a story history about the background of it and the aftermath. But still deceded still to post it since that nobody posted about it yet. It was the biggest event of last decenium (2000-2010), also from  the start of 1999, the most awaited event until it took place in 2000. It started from Koffi's succes at Zenith de Paris on november 7th, which he sold out that day. Towards the end of the show, he announced the public that he would perform there the following year.

I excepted someone on youtube to make a special video about it, Koffi fanatics making a special-live or  Mbuta Likasu suddenly appearing with a former Quartier Latin-member to talk about it, since that it's a quarter of a century, but it didn't happen. Nor Koffi himself posting rare pictures or videos on facebook or instagram of that day.

It's crazy to think that none of Werrason, JB Mpiana and Werrason ever returned back to Bercy and kept returning back to Zenith. You would except that Koffi would do a least one Bercy again within 10 years, because of its succes, but it never happen. There were talks that he would do one after Monde Arabe, when they were recording it. One in the process of the BEK-recordings and in 2010, when rumors started to get spread that he couldn't go to Europe anymore, because of the dancers that filled a complaint against him. It's also crazy that some of the French press already about his upcoming show at Parc des Princes (summer 2001) that never came and Koffi having to come with excuses for 2 years. But re-announce it again for summer 2004, when releasing Affaire d'Etat, but still the event still not taking place.

In my opinion this was the best Bercy to the point I’m kinda glad he didn’t go back to do another because I don’t think it would’ve been as good. My dad went to this concert and he enjoyed it, I hate how he didn’t release it in two parts and only 1 hour and a half. but the production was amazing.

Mfumu when you have the time please write the background and aftermath of it.

I disagree. If he would have done it between late 2001 and early 2004, it would’ve been amazing. But any other time afterwards I agree with you that it wouldn’t have been as good:

Naa because it wouldn’t be special anymore, like his 2 Zeniths in 2003 weren’t special at all. 2001/02 yes maybe

I think that if Werrason did a second Bercy, that it could have pushed them to do a great good show, if there was second one planned for them.

Zenith 2003 was not special, because they put it as a goodbye concert of the long 2002-2003 Europe-tour. If they put it as first show of the tour, then it would have been different. Because their show at Brixton Academy, which was their second show of the tour was a good show. I still regret that Triple Olympia didn't took place.

For the second Zenith of 2003, I think because of them being the first band based in Kinshasa to go the Schengen Area after the Ngulu-affair and also thinking that nobody else go to Europe anymore for a moment (BCBG having a ban, Maison Mère also having problems since the case of 2002, the future of Nouvelle Ecriture having uncertainty, Tonya Tonya not being able to get visa's), them not feeling any pressure to pull a great show. Because those shows we had in Europe 1998-2002 had  some fire, also because of the pressure coming from other bands. At the same time, the atalaku-section became weak because of Brigade's absence (which would affect the tour a bit and fans complaining), despite CNN's return. Looks like there also a bit of tensions in Quartier Latin since 2003, but I don't what exactly was going on, since that nobody clearly talked about it. Only once that rumors that Quartier Latin was about to disband in the US, which denied by Koffi and years later Jordan Kusa during Covid saying that there were problems, but not wanting to go into details.

Maybe he did, but that it wasn't part of the cassette. Because Congolese shows used to be more than 4 hours long and labels releasing those cassettes, mostly just releasing 2 hours of footage.

I remember few people complaining that Koffi didn't sing his old songs much like he did during Olympia and Zenith, him doing all Attentat-songs and just a few of his past. While during Olympia and Zenith, the majority of his songs were his old hits and him just picking a few tracks from Loi. There was even one woman that got interviewed by a newspaper (I think Liberation) saying that over his show, but also explaining that she understands, because Koffi having a new team.

It's probably their salary and lifestyle discrepancy, a lot of these guys are 25-30 years old. I'm not sure if they're still renting or make enough money to purchase a house. Some of these guys have families of their own, so cars and fancy clothes don't motivate them like before.

If Alain Mpela in BCBG and the stars of Masion Mere were grumbling about money since 2000, I can only imagine what Jordan and others were upset about...maybe girls, you know that's a cause of a lot of fights between musicians.
