The story about Delta Force before Pépé Kallé’s death is like the story of Wenge birth and its split of 1997. Everybody has his own version and don’t know who’s telling the truth. So Elvis Kunku was basically lying about what he said in his interview with Mr la Rumba? The difference with Lofombo’s version is that Djuna says that the girls of Delta Force were accepted and the singers being about to get presented the following weeks, but Pepe Kalle passing away. There was only one singer of Empire Bakuba who also said that the guys were about to do their tests, but I do not remember who have seen that much interviews on youtube the past 15 years.
Imagine if Tonerre de Brest was released in 2000. He would have been a threat to Werrason JB Mpiana, Papa Wemba and Koffi Olomidé. He had already a huge succes with his band with the concerts he was doing around the areas of Kinshasa after leaving Lofombo
To me it was told that Djuna wanted to correct some stuff of the version recorded in Kinshasa. I was shocked to hear the real version what went wrong with Tonerre de Brest. It was not a smart move from Djuna to send the mastering to Europe before arriving there. That must be a huge blow for Djuna, being curious to hear the work with Nyboma, Somida and Rigo Makengo, only to discovering that songs were messed up and some even deleted. I get it why he started crying in the bathroom of the toilet and the car.
Hearing Rigo Makengo commenting about how songs were messed up, made think if Lofombo didn’t sabotage it. Because he was also produced by Rigo and at that time in Europe. It could be that Rigo asked him to listen to the album to know if it’s good or asking him to mix it and Lofombo just messed it up out of anger because of everything that happened between the guys. Or maybe a bandleader who was being afraid of the succes Djuna had and asking Rigo to mess the album up if he wanted to produce him.
Djuna was so lucky that Nyboma came with the initiative to use the demo-cassette to paste it with the master and let Djudjuchet and Caien Madoka add and correct parts. If Djuna didn’t gave Nyboma the demo-cassette we wouldn’t been able to get Tonerre de Brest.
I always thought that Respect Pepe Kalle and Nez a Nez were recorded in Kinshasa. It didn’t knew that they were also recorded in Europe along with Fin du Match, 100% TVA, Onze-Onze Tonerre de Brest

Such a shame that Djuna Mumbafu just decided to remove all songs late Angela Sambaro and other bandmembers. It would have been great to hear the talents of the guys next to the songs of Djuna himself. So Djudju’s brother Sambaro has Merci Maman of Empire Bakuba as only album where he showcased his talents as drummer next to Logilo ? What became of guitarist DC10 and Touby, who was Pepe Kalle’s look-a-like. Imagine if Tonerre de Brest was released in 2000. I don't that Dolokos will ever talk about the Delta Force-period in details, because journalists always tend ask him only about Pepe Kalle or why they left Delta Force, but never time with Lofombo and how he, Papy Rebelle and late Angela Sambaro followed Djuna Mumbafu
