just seen on the page of univers magazines of one of koffi's pire petits(even though he's gone a bit more neutral these days) that junior kingombe has passed away, that is really really sad
-
Is that true or is it just a rumour, because I literally can not believe it.
-
How?! He still looked young and in good shape

Damn that’s crazy, he looked like he was shape and everything. May he R.I.P it sucks that he never really gave interviews, I’ve always said he could’ve been the Heritier of Quatier Latin. He could’ve took over from Fally like Heritier did after Ferre. His vocal in Pomme Verte is a classic!

I agree with you, he missed that opportunity when he left in 2006, him along with Mirage and Asso could’ve lead the new Quartier Latin along with the mineurs like Depitcho, Mamale, Babia and Eric Tutsi did along with the attentat team after Academias departure.
Such a waste of career because he had everything looks, dance skills, singing and charisma, he would’ve walked into any group like Maison Mère, BCBG (PPU’s). They’re saying it was cardiac arrest, such a shame his last public appearance was at Passé Kosse’s wake that Fally organised.

asso must be shattered, thats literally his day one guy into professional music, been through 3 years of "trial" together
-
wow so he was facing a period of divorce and all that and was affected and sick but not seriously but then he suffered a stroke while at work

Hmm maybe it's just me but it seems to becoming a recurring theme amongst africans when they're going through a divorce or break up it affects their health especially musicians. It's a still a shock because Junior was still young and he was in proper gym shape like Deo Brondo and even jf ifonge.

Divorce is a very stressful thing to go through, especially in Europe and America. Remember, the courts favor the mother, imagine if she's very angry against you? She'll fight for custody, child support, and that prolonged legal battle can effect your sleep, maybe you're drinking too much, and high blood pressure...if you're not careful, you could have a medical emergency. You never truly know what people deal with, even when they look healthy.

Indeed - Don’t forget also in African culture, you’re not just divorcing the wife. You are also divorcing her family also who will undoubtedly pull some wickedness to further complicate the situation and they will do all they can to leave you with nothing despite you busting your ass to make a living. Divorce still has a shame/taboo connotation despite being more common than ever
RIP Junior - his voice was a standout in a band that has had some many of the genres most talented vocalists
-
Rest in Peace

RIP...Junior. I remember he was trying to release an album in the late 2000...It's rough out there for some of these guys. Does anyone know what happened to him?
-

i also came across two extracts of him listening to himself singing urban music in a car, mannnn he had so much potential
i am sad also to hear the trouble between quartier latin members over his funerals,i saw for example bapinces blasting mboshi for continuing to exclude him from those tapis rouge and djonga concerts to give him tribute over something completely minor which might have happened between them long ago now which forced him out of those concerts and he was saying that most of those two early quartier latin guys like to dominate on them even when its not necessary so there is a lot of arguments going on between them over the funerals
-
It's really embarrassing to argue at the funeral, of all places, that should be neutral territory.

Mboshi actually causes trouble a lot more than people realise. He’s been in conflicts with Somono, Sam, Sam Tshintu, CNN, Kerozene, Suzuki. All in the space of a few years, he’s like Suzuki in that sense.

Archos you were right Asso looked shattered and was even crying with Koffi comforting him. I saw somewhere that Fally, Jordan Kusa, Sam Tshintu, Koffi and co all contributed to the funeral. It would’ve been nice if Fally was there because Junior supported Fally early in his solo career by visiting him at his concerts, but obviously Fally is back in Kinshasa. Look at Juniors kids man it’s sad RIP Junior you always be a part of Congolese music history.

even worse apoca who knew him since they were kids in street groups, its painful seeing them like that
i hope jordan and koffi could talk,if they cant do it under such circumstances they never will

RIP this is so sad he was so young and extremely talented. Never got involved in bad public situations
Not to take away from the situation, but I wonder if Koffi realizes how many artists he directly/indirectly helped get to Europe to have a chance after leaving the band. Say what you will about him, but he never let artists around with nothing like some others. This is likely why they are able to let go of their beefs when it’s time to come together in moments like this
