Title: Random Question (Lingala)

Might seem like an odd request but I am helping my brother translate a rap into lingala and i am doing well so far
but I need to know, is there a word for "Rape" in lingala?

If not i will just use the french word but I prefer too use as much lingala as possible. THanks in advance!

Tough question, apart from viol which is French i don't know of any alternative word to describe rape in lingala. :lol:

there is no word for viol in lingala,its said in french even by those who do not speak french
its too tough to translate in lingala

i have a feeling the reason there is no word for it is because its not something that was prevalent among africans before white people arrived.

yes,true,you cannot find words in lingala for financial crisis of a country for example,so its said in french

Hehehehe,hope you're not attacked for saying this. I think rape existed back in the days.

no no no i didn't say it did not exist lol i said it was not as prevalent. meaning it may have existed but not widespread enough for there to be a specific word describing it.
