Kiekiekiekie,there is a big problem at Maison Mere, they need one experienced tenor ataluku and one falsetto ataluku.
Now that soloist, I think I have seen him before somewhere else I can't remember where,he sounds good.
The fact that all soloists are tested on Sou Sol shows just who Werra thinks was his best soloist has ever been and his best work so far. Flamme Kapaya really hammered Sous Sol and I remember writing a long review praising him and Werra for that Generique in 2006!

Falsetto atalukus are the ones that do the animation introduced by Djouna Mumbafu, it's people like Bill Clinton Kalondji,Kerozene,Acide Wanzambi, Musamaria, Genta etc.

Yes the deep voice ones,that's falsetto since it's not natural. In Congolese music it's mainly falsetto or tenor animation.

indeed,japonais has found a producer who is helping him promote his album,he is been interviewed on a few radios,but i dont know why,he refused to answer any question related to maison mere
maybe like sly said he felt belittled with his "fake' artistic director role which was still done by kakol and the fact arc en ciel was given more songs on ingeta

It's quite obvious things didn't go as expected for him, he was literally made mi-soloist but I don't blame Werrason because Japonais has that old style of playing,the same style that Maitre Ficarre has. The boy Arc en Ciel has now caught up with the style that Flamme, Christian Bombole and Kimbangu play which seems to be Werra's preferred style and I think the fans like it too.

I beg to differ and see that Arc has proven that that he can play like all those you've mentioned and including Japonais; He is now living up to his nickame Young Makaba and Zamba has never sounded any better...

arc en ciel is talented no doubt,but he seems like the least talented of the number 1 soloists maison mere has had
he has learned music at school which taught him to play a variety of musical styles but it took him time to adjust to maison mere's style of playing
and even after adjusting,i still feel like something is missing,proof is for example the youtube comments
i never read a comment like "arc en ciel is the best of the country, he made us forget flamme or kimbangu" stuff like that

I like what am hearing here...I posted here that Nikkei is quite good actually to me an able replacement of Kimbangu...hii don't know why werrason didn't go for him...
Notice how musicians are oscillating between Cultur and WMM? I posted a while ago about seeing the no. 2 WMM drummist at Cultur...

When Satellite came out you were ready to credit Japonais only to find out that Arc was the man and not an under study to no one not even Kibangu...

Not that he plays like Alain Makaba but his tuning and crisp clear sound is like that preferred by Makaba. This is the same tuning that Roga Roga also likes, the type of guitar also matters, each soloist has their preferred guitar.

Yes,the list is endless, Pathy Moleso,Thierry Mogratana,Mboka Liya, Flamme Kapaya, Christian Bombole, Kimbangu,Christian Solo(ex soloist at Ferre's band),Tshanda formerly of Zaiko, Popolipo,Ramazani,Lebou Kabuy.............the list is too long,all these are excellent soloists just playing small time music in Europe. Alain Makaba too was on that list till he decided to return to Kinshasa,we hope he starts playing solo again instead of just concentrating on music production as he's been doing ever since he left Wenge BCBG.

Yeah right so Igwe calls him Makaba because of his tuning :mrgreen:
As for the other guitarist you mention, nothing new comes out the cemetry; they've peaked. Flesh Ingeta will be out soon lets reserve the argument till then.

Each soloist is unique and they use a preferred guitar because of the sound it produces that's why you find that Alain Makaba and Roga Roga's guitar works sound very similar,they use a similar guitar, Arc en Ciel uses a different guitar which produces a tone like the tone Alain Makaba is known for and that's how the name Petit Makaba came in.

...DJ Sly I should know, I am raising a young Musician and probably hang around more guitarists than you to know their preference and superstions as well. This summer alone I introduced my boy to two Congolese soloist that played for Samba and Four Benga soloist. While most Congolese prefer Les paul/Gibson that Makaba, Roga, Tyson and Polyster at times on rythm most Benga leads prefer Ibanez which Arc is fond of as well...

Kaisari, it's good you hang around guitarists,hopefully they are Congolese.
For your own information, Alain Makaba and Roga Roga use a similar model and colour Steinberger guitar. I can tell you which top Congolese guitarist uses what guitar but I guess the topic is now becoming about who knows what and it's beginning to suck so let's talk about something else maybe.

Yes, Arc en Ciel has reached the standards Werrason requires and has proved his worth in the position he holds and that's why Werrason has not paid much attention to Japonais but to say Arc en Ciel is the best soloist Werrason has ever would be folly as it is a fact that the fans at Zamba do not give Arc en Ciel the same respect they accorded Flamme Kapaya,Kimbangu and Bombole. Yes, Arc en Ciel proved a point on Satellite and now we wait to hear what he's really made of on Ingeta as on Satellite,Japonais said he created most of the work and let Arc en Ciel play,there is a video of him saying this on youtube.
