Management of Zenith have decided to cancel the show for security reasons. They are issuing refunds at points of ticket sales

so sad indeed. now the combatants have been legitimized they are going to become even more powerful.

It does not make sense to cancell a big concert 3 days to go. Now combantantts have more strength to disrupt more concerts in future.

Well,it's only because Zenith is a prestigious venue which hosts many shows constantly, management didn't want to take the risk probably because of the direct threats they were receiving from idiots who call themselves combattants.
It's good to note that police in France have started arresting some of these criminals,here is one who was recently by the Anti terrorism unit of the French police

By all means, not enough to pay for a hall like Zenith.

I also doubt the story by digitalcongo, there are too many people up against JB Mpiana and Alain Claude, people that really have no clue about democracy and I really feel Congo as a country will never go anywhere with so many people with the reasoning am seeing on the comments and a lot of them supporting terrorists who call themselves combattants who have no respect for humanity and human rights.

yeah a lot of people are happy and saying "bcbg musicians will have cardiac arrests LOL" or insulting jb and his family and stuff like that
and president of france did not respect his promise,he probably does not give a damn about congo anyway...

its very sad especially for the musicians,i am certain they received money from hundred of people for mabanga during the concert,sold some of the thing they possess as they know with a succesful tour they can aim for bigger things,for journalists of national tv who are in paris now for nothing at the end of the day....
the other concert scheduled at zenith that day is also cancelled probably due to the threats of those guys even thought the other concert has nothing to do with congo...
and some of people say "jb we love you but ......ingeta",thats not loving somebody

The French authorities have nothing to do with it, they allowed the show, it's management of the venue that decided to cancel the show.

Congolese as a people are not tolerant. on very many occasions I would see Congolese musicians fight during their shows in clubs here in Nairobi and hardly can a show end without a bitter argument. That shows people who are not tolerant. am sorry for my friends in here but that I think is a challenge you guys have. Congolese would do anything to go to Europe then forget and start insulting their brothers and sisters back at home. Am so sad, now they have won but for how long will they continue living in Europe?

This just broke my heart, that's a stupid reason to cancel a concert because the police was supposed to be there and provide securtiy. And I feel bad for all the fans that were supposed to go and the artists and promoter who worked hard to make this a great show.

I also wanted this concert to go forward so that the combattant can try to disrupt the concert and the police beat the living hell out them.

Hold on, are all of you here against what the combattant are trying to do for Congo?....Archos soki oza congolais ya solo oko kamwisa nga.....we all know why the combattant are hard on musicians

there is not a unique reason,some because they sung for kabila,some because they sing sexual things,some because they ate money of ngulu without bringing the person or people and so on and so on
you see your argument of i am true congolese i am surprising you,this is typical congolese logic
just because i dont share your point of view does not make me any less congolese
that system of blocking concert was ok for a moment,it helped people realise some things,ok fair enough
but i think on long term IT IS NOT FAIR,because
1 if kabila was a guy who would let you be his opposant or displace him, we will all be in kinshasa right now
so why do we consider that we are not going back to live in congo because there is no freedom then condemn people who did what was best for their freedom?
2 there have been millions of billions of dead people all over the world since it exists, i have heard nowhere that people should come from all over the world ready to kill people because a musician wants to do HIS WORK
lets not forget apart the fact,its an entertaining job,it is a job and as long as it is a job they have the right to do it wherever they want
3 revendicate something does not mean taking other people's life in hostage,violence is not the only way to revendicate something,i have said it times and times,doing mpiakas at concets would shock them much more than the threats,and if you are honest enough you will admit that those threat exist because those who threaten know there is plenty of people who want to have fun and its their right,and i am pretty sure it is possible to have fun and be conscious of certain things at the same time
for now, i stop here with my arguments,and once again i am sad that my nationality or love for my country is questioned because i dont share the point of view of some people
i respect as human those who think like you and even those who are much more radical,but i expect the same respect back
that is the basis of democracy
i could write more than that,but im a bit too pissed to continue so that's it

if there is a law saying that you are only congolese if you encourage violence and unfairness(from either kabila to congolese people and the congolese people to the congolese musicians),they i'd rather die right now......

archos your point is valid but I believe jb should have just accepted the ban and talk to the combattants instead of escalating the issue.

he did the press conference,and did 2hours on open phone with a journalist of combattants,and he kept being insulted throughout the interview
at least he tried to create discussion,then whether he was stubborn to continue despite knowing the threats,its a completely different debate

typical....entertainment is all most of you care about and not acknowledging the influence some musician have. I did not say because you dont share the same point of view as me it makes you less congolese.....How many country do you know in this modern time has over 5 million people, counting dead?. Music its an entertaining job, fair enough but when you have greedy musicians choosing to support an intruder while others are trying they hardest to get rid of them that right there becomes a problem and alot of hate and resentments builds up. Regarding musicians, the main reason the combattants are hard on them it's simply because they sung for kabila and are contributing in messing up kids with their sexual songs and other explicit act.....

Talking about the influence of musicians,if the influence was that real,kabila would have made the scores mobutu had when there was only MPR just with the influence of jb plus werra,yes or no?
are you sure they really chose?I always give the example of when mobutu was there,EVERY of the big guys who sang for kabila were already there under mobutu,and were performing when and where told to,yes or no?
look at what happened to marie paul and bill.....
and the all you care about is entertaining is a bit hypocrite i think,whats the point of forbidding concerts which happen maybe 10 times a year but not forbid music which people listen to every single day by the same guys
dont get me wrong,i am not saying all what is done is stupid,but i just say combattants action can also be done without damaging people's freedom but also destroying the business of music,barbershops,cd shops,restaurants....
and to inform you,i have been to some of combattants action but i think i deserve the right not to agree with everything they do
well,about all those dead of course its a big drama,very big,enormous or whatever we can say and may their souls rest in peace,but is people's death a reason to limit the freedom of a certain part of the congolese workers

i understand anger of some people,no problem,but what i dont understand is why the anger of some people and the way they chose to express it should limit freedom of other people(wanting to go to concerts does not mean being happy with what happened,lets not make that very very bad confusion)
since the movement of combattants and some of their ideologies have been spread,all what is related to entertainment has been caricatured a lot and summed up in the bias that if you want to have fun,it means you are stupid you only think about fun and so on and so on
and thats quite false
look at ivory coast,there was war during years,but did it stop their musicians to perform?
and please dont think i am defending them blindly or whatever,i am defending their freedom as workers

you can't compare any country war with what goes on in congo...it runs deeper than you think and it hasn't stopped..i guarantee you in the next couple of months another group of rebels will start and they will continue to kill innocent people and rape while corrupted and intruder government continue to run the country...Another thing which you're failing to see and why these combattant are so hard on musicians is that the person they supported is not even congolose and does nothing for his public. I get your freedom as workers case but when those people are using their freedom to make things worst then thats where the problem begins........
