even though his voice is set higher than his singers,kester actually makes the chorus more beautiful
my point with that example is that these days,leaders are lead singers and thats all,or they do multiple voice chorus on their own
jb,werra,ferre,fally and co are good chorists and i understand why they can make that effort at least on a couple of songs in studio
i could understand if they find somehow demeaning(with their strange mentality) to sing along with their employees instead of chatting with friends at the backstage
but come on, their president roles is secondary when it comes to art...

Fally,Werra and Jb let their musicians sing in the chorus it's Ferre who does his own choruses.

My God, musicians really out themselves at a disadvantage by not marketing themselves and their music properly, I have come to learn of great songs by King Kester only after his death, this is a great song. I wonder why he never made the effort to tour and sell his music even in neighbouring countries such as Zambia were he was well known for his song Nzinzi and Primus.

unfortunately,he preffered leaving africa and setlling in euriope and that time,so he was mainly touring in europe and america and then come back to congo
he was" following the foosteps of his petit frere michael jackson" so he was rarely touring in general eversince he did the "grand slam" (martyrs,olympia,zenith)

Ah, I see. Now I remember that he wasn't permanently in congo,that contributed to his failure to rise to the top.

Hahaha I'm absolutely shocked Sly!........How could you say you don't know all the songs on Longue Histoire? That is criminal criminal and your sentence is to listen to Flo Rider all weekend. This song reminds me of year 2000 when I was a 20 something young man in London, at a club called Beach Ngobila in Seven Sisters. We danced many nights away to this song and it always brought the roof down. I remember there was also a song by Benz Petrole that sounded the same and these two used to be played in succession.......just the thought of it makes me feel that I could do anything to roll the clock back.
Willy Ebondaki is definitely an underrated guitarist whom I like a lot. His sound is not pretentious but catchy, melodious and genius. Listen to this:
