How does an artist get from written words to a song with instruments ? how do the instrumentalist get the beats for the song ?

the question I guess is how does it all come together ?

As I said rehearsals well secret ones (in houses most times) where there is the songwriters, guitarists and the singer him/her. Later the words are given for the song by songwriters obviously the singer sings the words and then the guitarist gives a rhythm and the singer then follows that rhythm and maybe few texts could be changed and the songwriter could the singer sing it in different way the guitarist could say that as well, until later it is fully rehearsed with group including more singers and instrumentalists. Some singers or songwriters give some solo vocals, bridges and a chorus. Guitarists especially bassists and rhythm, lead guitarists add there partitions along with drummer, keyboard and congas. If there is a sebene animators also add to the song. Now it is transferred to the studio where most times there is an arranger who does change a bit of the song the way it should sung and how instrumentalists should re-play some elements within the song or maybe the arranger could add a little instrument partition and after it is recorded in further time mixed another thing which happens is usual the dedications (mabangas) after that the song is mastered and there we go finished. If I'm wrong please correct although I think i'm not well I hope this answer your question!!!

In Congolese music, what I know is that it's the composers who supply the music, most composers play an instrument, usually guitar or keyboards and they supply songs with the melody/rhythm so what the artists or bands do is just alter the arrangement of the song,it's as simple as that so it's the composers who do much of the work. It is not an easy thing to compose that's why you find that a majority of the songs out there by top artists were just bought from composers.

some artits write their own songs,some buy ready made songs and melody by someone, some only buy text then add melody on their own, so buy several parts from differents songwriters and try putting them together to form a song( hence the increasing number of similar choruses in songs from different artists for example)
in some cases the song by songwriters is done long ago and they propose it to musicians in return of something,or musicians order them,for my next album i want songs about x or y ,the level of the song depending on the person the song will be diedicated to

It is difficult in Congolese music to separate between songwriters and composers/arrangers as most songwriters also arrange the music they write.
Some of the renowned Congolese songwriters, composers and arrangers are Papa Lutumba Simaro, Sec Bidens, Eldorado, Do Akongo, Maika Munan, Pascal Poba, Didier Milla, Al Nzimbi and Jean Goubald
The following are also well known in the clan Wenge Jules Kibens,Boguys Bompema, Zulema and Gautier Bidens.
Don't forget that Koffi Olomide is also another good writer/composer.
