First of all the name of PPU means presidential protection unit and was taken from one of the security group of the president
the idea came from blaise bula and alain mpela to have a reserve team representing the back up of each of the singers,then evolved into a complete group
there was jules kibens as blaise bula's back up,heritier watanabe as alain mpela's back up,the unknown armand ngolo(who died very early) as jb's backup and chai ngenge as aimelia's back up,then they took many of the wenge kumbela musicians as the group had a troublesome time(almost was disbanded i think), plus singer didi kalombo and bcbg's currently rhythm guitarist zygal
then when heritier left,he was replaced by teka
they were only singing a couple of old wenge musica songs before alain mpela,jb,kibens and chai(who had become first teamers)
and when in 2001 the group arrived for bercy,those in the video were those were taken to europe,minus teka gone back to delta force,singer sakoko,atalaku cellulaire( at expense of bill clinton's brother kilimandjaro arrived in the group just two weeks before bercy),and rhythm guitarist zygal left behind aswell as armand ngolo dead in strange conditions(supposedly sacrificed by one of the guys who absolutely wanted to be on the bercy list)
after bercy, they remained in europe while jb was going back to kin with the team mpela kibens and co and coming back and meanwhile recruited many musicians in ppu aile kinshasa(abraham fudji djino and so on) and even created a third team as there were too many musicians
its in 2003 when the ngulu affair appears and bcbg back to kin and jb plans to bring the europe ppu back to kin should bcbg fulfill their next europe tour
bcbg get visas refused and jb fears coming to europe as he could get caught for ngulu affair
the group is banned for 5 years in europe so the project of bringing them back to kin collapses
and its how seeing that bcbg were stuck in kin for long they deciding releasing their own albums with the songs they would be adding in bcbg album had not the ban happened
then as predictable all of them enjoyed the "nice life of europe" and started having their personal lives ( the techniques to get long term papers and so on with babies here and there) and the group disbanded as every of them went on his side and most are preparing solo albums nowadays(one has returned to kinshasa didi kalombo)

This was a team, they really defended BCBG well, it was because of this team that Werra also tried his called "Operation Dragon" but failed as JB's team had stolen the hearts of fans from all rival groups, these chaps were a marvel to watch.

shame jb was angry at some of them for saying false things to get permanent papers otherwise he could have used them to tour in europe during the ban,he was going in euope whenever he wanted few months after that after had caught wemba and had calmed down a bit with wemba being released

I read somewhere that sakoko did not go to trips abroad due to suspension or he had tried to dodge. as from 2006 2007 he starts to plead to go abroad when he sings his parts in the song liberez..nazomela ...or something like that .crowds like it so much .in fact when he sang liberez during their last trip on France he changed the parts to thanking jb ...namoni paris

yes if jb did not decide to let him focus on finishing high school before becoming a starter he would have been at the famous zenith of 1999 ,its when they were in france that heritier joined maison mere through a friend of him who knew werra

two weeks before bercy one or two days before jb announced the guys who was going on tour,armand went to eat at the house of one of the guys and the guy was also a tenorist and he had actually did witchcraft on the food so that armand ends up being in such a bad health condition that he could not tour(armand was a massive jb favourite and was even dressing differently at concerts sometimes than the rest of them)
and what the guy planned happened and armand was taken to his parents village for bokoko treatment,and took back to kin hut never fully recovered and died shortly after,while bcbg was already in europe
as for that guy,gullit or something like that,a footballer name anyway he was fired from bcbg and jailed in makala prison and later joined dakumuda

Wow very sad stuff, do you know how old he was when he died?

he was 22 if i recall well,he was actually heritier's best friend but was slightly older
this kind of situation sadly shows how far people are ready to go just for a europe tour,there are many many examples like that

yes they were a complete band except rhythm guitarist who did not get visa so alba acompagnero played the whole concert of bercy
