I wish to suggest to Werra to look into recruiting the following soloists to add spice..
1) Hono Kapanga
2)Mbetenge
3)Felly Tyson
4)Hadji Solo

Felly Tyson is doing well with his former colleague and now boss Fally......Hadji solo seems to get more time from Ferre now.....if Hono Kapanga were to go back to a group it should be Cultura so he can help them out in their sebene.

Makes no sense suggesting some of those people who are clearly much more comfortable where they are now. Felly is with Fally, Mbetenge is in Europe, Hadji is with Ferre so the only person Werra can go for is Hono Kapanga who is currently not in any band as Jos Diena simply hired him for his last album Vitrine.

I do not see all those mentioned fitting in so well in werrason"s maison mere style. Flam kapaya really left a void. Hono kapanga, felly etc can do well with ferre and jb. Jb has not yet tested patou on various albums while ferre really needs a soloist.

It's really unfortunate that you're still arguing in such lines,Flamme Kapaya is not a guitar god, if a 13 year old small boy like Petit Poussin can learn and play Kapaya's guitar licks and carry on to even go and play at Zenith what would stop an experienced soloist like Dady Bola,Mbetenge,Kapanga or Hadji to play exactly like Flamme infact Hadji Solo who is now with Ferre has been playing like Flamme for years and I have given examples of the songs.
It is really funny that you say Ferre needs a soloist when he already has 2 good soloists and to be honest if we put Hadji Solo and someone like Patou Solo's work head to head, you'll find that Hadji wins. He's just played one generique with Ferre so far,wait until you hear him again on another song and you'll know just how wrong you've been by suggesting that Ferre needs a new soloist.

There are solo guitarists better than Flame who have played for Maison Mere, Mbokaliya and Japonaise. To me Ndombolo ya solo which was created by Japonaise is head and shoulder above all Kapayas solo licks. Felly Tyson is far ahead of Flame, just listen to Skol Longitima, to me its about the sound of the guitar and not the speed.

It is undeniable that Flamme Kapaya is one of the best soloist to come out of Congo, he sets trends and standards so let's not take that away from him but to say other soloists cannot play like him is what I refuse to accept because Kapaya was not born a soloist, he learnt how to play and improved on his skills as years went by. Kapaya plays the same way every other soloist plays except he wants to play very fast that's all, any experienced soloist wouldn't have much problems with that and if you listen to what Mbetenge,Felly and others soloists have created before, it's just the same as kapaya's.
I will also give you an example, Luxembourg or Kimbangu's idol is Flamme Kapaya. Kimbangu now plays more complicated solo riffs/signatures than Flamme Kapaya who has toned down, it's all to do with keeping sebene clean and maturity, each band has a target audience and they play their sebene based on their target audience, Wenge BCBG.Zaiko and Viva play subtle sebene, it's meant for mature listeners who dance at ease but Maison Mére is for the young and shegues so they play wild sebene so the soloists at Maison Mére have to play wildly too but the soloists are not born to play wildly, Werrason tells them how he likes them to play as that is his preferred style and standard. Koffi's preference is not too different to that of Werra's, they both prefer crisp clear high pitched solo and complicated solo riffs/signatures so Kapaya would have probably played the same had he gone to Quartier Latin.
Japonais preferred style is different to that of Kapaya but Japonais can actually play Kapaya's style as he proved that on Les Marquis album 'Miracles' so this shows that Japonais just prefers cleaner solos like he did on Wenge Maison Mere's first album Force Intervention Rapide and on some songs on Sololá Bien.
Flamme Kapaya played the Generique Sololá Bien but some songs on the same album had Japonais. On intervention Rapide, it's Japonais who played the generique but Kapaya also played some sebene songs.
On Sololá Bien, the solo guitar was suppressed, it's all the sound engineer's fault as they didn't balance things properly that's why these days Werrason sticks to JP Kys of Ndiaye for the main generiques of his albums because Ndiaye has high standards on sound.

Kapaya is just fast and I have seen others struggle to do that. But the issue here is speed does not mean best. One guitarist I have heard who can outclass kapaya at speed is makaba. I repeat, speed when soloing depends on the arrangement of the song. Just like with driving, any experienced driver can do what another experienced driver can do, there's nothing special about speed.
Kapaya and Kimbangu have set high standards on solo guitar by taking Mboka Liya's style of creating multiple signatures to another level, it's not easy to do signatures but with practice any good soloist can play like what another soloist can play.

I didn't mention my guitar playing skills did I? Anyway, it's the last time am trying to clarify something about guitars to you as a friend. I am not only learning to play physically,theory also comes in and I speak with guitarists and follow lessons online too so now I know that I was truly a layman where guitars are concerned so I just try to share what I have learned so far not that you're forced to accept my opinions.
