just acquired this concert.
I cannot explain how the two drumists played in sync.has it been done again by BCBG or any other group ? I like the song Mohammed Kaniasy where singers are introduced one by one .PPU interplay with JB is nice.
questions
1. who were the instrumentalists on the trip?
2.who were the female dancers on the trip?
3.who were the singers on the trip.
4. were Genta and Tuti the only senior atalakus?

can you post the concert please been looking for it for a long long long time it
that concert was certainly one of the biggest if not THE biggest squad brought( from the entire band not even 10 musicians were left in kin)

You've asked too many questions but most of us who were not there or don't have the dvd will not know the answers until we also watch so you watch then tell us coz we will be the ones with questions for you! ;D ;D ;D
To answer your question about how the two drummers Titina and Seguin played at the same time, here is what is comprised of a drum kit

1. Bass drum | 2. Floor tom | 3. Snare drum
4. Hanging toms | 5. Hi-hat | 6. Crash cymbal
7. Ride cymbal | 8. Splash cymbal | 9. China cymbal
The two were interchanging roles so one would be playing piece number 2(floor tom) piece number 3( snare drum) piece number 1(Bass drum) piece number 4(hanging toms) and piece number 9(china cymbal) these are the main instruments used by drummers in Congolese music so the second drummer would be playing the other instruments mainly the cymbals or bronze/ metal disc things you see on a drum set to create crash and splash sounds,hope my explanation is clear.

hahaha same story here,Archos i used to have the VHS of wenge bcbg 4x4 in tanzania (1996) before the break up, my uncle took it and never return it back

let me explain myself guys I work in the wild and use a smartphone with poor network coverage.I cannot post till I get back to Nairobi probably next month. the concert is a large file .kindly excuse me on this one.
I thought this was a famous concert and most guys may have had it.clearly I was wrong
Archos dnd Sly I will try and check the concert and answer my own questions above .however this guys were young those days hence the difficult.

Synthe it was Theo Bidens, I think on solo it was Ficcare, mi-solo it was Moleso, drums it was Titina and Seguin i. e. two drum sets, rhythm guitar it was Alba Accompa, bass guitarist was Sunda Bass, mbonda I don't know
Female dancers... i only recognize two monica and marcation...also one looks like young zambrotta
singers Chai, JDL, kibense, Alain, Rio, Boguys, Mukena, Caludji and PPU
Senior atalakus GentA and Caludji and reserve ataluku was young Kilimanjaro

did you guys know that 10 guys left the group just after airport when they arrived(among them drummer shaggy of PPU and mainly dancers)
they pretended to go see some guys to get their gifts and never ever came back as they had fulfilled their dream of being in 'dreamland" europe

either girlfriends who take care of them,or they do some underground job(stealing and selling mainly) as they dont have papers, then you have guys like aimelia or serge mabiala who took time to get some formation and started proper jobs

Also Biku Lebruin.
I always confuse Biku Lebruin and Richard Mukena...help here

Me too' I used to confuse biku and mukena..........bcbg was better when mukena was there because of his contribution to diversity in voices. That is why singers like zulema are needed in bcbg.

EMO and Shamala, am surprised that you find/found it hard to distinguish between Mukena and Biku,they don't look alike and don't sing the same,Mukena sings deep bass and Biku sound like Werra or BCBG's Sakoko, Richard is now bigger than he was in BCBG so looks more like Alba Accompa

It is Mukena who is Bibi's Sucre and they have 2 kids.

I have no idea why they left but if you remember it was a mass exit including Mboka Liya, Moleso etc,they all left at the same time when BCBG was touring Europe after being absent for several years,so it's likely they planned the departure a long time ago. JB who then came to London was left with no soloist, at the time it was reported that Ficarre had also stayed behind in Paris/Brussels but he opted to join the band in London but JB asked him to buy his own ticket to London as at the time I think JB had probably settled on making Patou the main soloist. It was after Ficarre came to London that they even had to edit the generique kipe yayo and caused further delays to the release of the album.
JB seems to be in good terms with all of them, he mentioned some of them on Soyons Serieux so it confirms he's easy going.

But the two were always in a relationship and were not on suspension? I think they were all just looking for an opportunity to come to Europe, why didn't he leave earlier.

I have watched the videos. Yes, each drummer has his drum kit but it doesn't matter as what I explained in my previous post explains how they played, have you bothered to read what I said? The two drummers swapped roles as they played throughout the concert so one would be playing the cymbals only for some time then later take on the main pieces and vice versa.
JDL was not recruited to be back up to Alain Mpela or anyone else. Because he's in the vocal category of Alain and sounded a bit like Alain, naturally he took on Alain's vocal parts on old songs after Alain's departure, it's just like Sakoko is used to sing Werrason's parts if the band is singing old Wenge Musica songs as Sakoko sings just like Werra and better.

Sly I read your piece what I did understand and hence prompting my thread is during seven the two drumists go tutututu on the tom drums simultaneously and then raise in unison from their seats...now from your explanation I justddidn't understand. by the way I had wished to learn playing drums but they are expensive and noisy (neighbours will not like it)...send me the drum diagram to my inbox please
