I've said this many times, Combattants have a point to band these artists why because when they got given that band I thought they will reconcile and make a transition to make congolese music better and obviously to make it a transitional period but no war upon war between artists, injustice and human right issues shown by big artist towards their workers (rape, lack of salary, violence and dictatorship) and many other stupidity I believe that they should be band and at the end of the day the Combattants made a right decision (I thought long and hard about this for about 5 days in this forum we get many videos of stupidity by artist rather positivity of the art but it's always (I'm better than this artist, I'm the greatest, ko boude, kofinga, koyinana vis a vis vraiment trop c'est trop) I'm fed up with these artist with exception of no one (meaning all the main popular artist in Congo).

I think we should also fault the journalists especially now it seems like there is a new site every other week
because of their "competition" they want to interview guys and you see titles like "eyindi x says that about Y or did that " so that they also get some buzz, almost every of the site want to benefit of that buzz instead of  taking for example a strong action like banning them for lets say one month for example,so it continues again and again and again
it has calmed down a bit on tv's but on internet there are updates almost every day i am sure if one has courage to tell them now we will only talk about your music of your group,it will be a step forward because  the other group wont have anything new to say
also fault  people around them, i would almost even go as far as says its the whole congolese mentality which needs a deep rethink since the conflicts we can see on net are not only about music, its about pretty much every thing
there are clashes in every country of course, but i feel in our case it has gone too far

Newside, stop supporting a terrorist organisation on this forum, combattants are a terrorist group and they have been labelled so by authorities in France. Terrorists like Combattants have no powers to moderate or curtail the freedoms of musicians,it's up to the Congolese govt to issue threats on the tv stations that host the stupid musicians and their spokesmen.

It is possible to have concerts especially in the UK if the musicians are serious but they are stupid as they don't unite and fight these individuals who call themselves combattants.

They can't do anything,it started here quite alright but just a movement opposing kabila, they just used to match on the streets with placards and the first reported incident being the attempted assault on Koffi at Wembley but that was it,it's in France/Belgium where they became terrorists. They can be contained by UK police it's only that the musicians themselves are not serious.

I don't know if the two of you (SLY and Jdog) read what I've had to say instead of focusing on the Combattant issue, listen I've been saying this for a long long time, I like congolese music and even some polemics of the past but the thing when the Combattants stepped in as you fellow bloggers I was against them because it was unfair to pick on artists for political problems sometimes you have to think and sometimes you two especially Jdog who is seems barbaric at times (not to say you are personally) have to look at both sides of the argument.

1. When the combattants stepped in why didn't Conglese artist choose to change the mentality and methods of treating Congolese music (going into depth: Why didn't they take it as a transitional moment to change the way they behave, how they treat their workers, other colleagues and most importantly the mass (population african and even european fans)?? SLY and Jdog answer this question like men please answer it properly?? Instead artist continued with their iniquities (I'm not perfect and I'll never be the thing is if you're a fan of Congolese music you need to criticize people when they are wrong that's a real fan Archos said something like this when we had the Deplik issue of Lack of Human Rights and by the way you two SLY and Jdog strongly opposed this behaviour by Werra and yes you are absolutely correct he should not off done any action like that towards a young colleague but then again if they wanted to prove the combattants a point they should of changed this type of behaviour that show not only to Deplik and many other colleagues.

2. I do agree that sometimes Combattants go over the top especially barbaric types but they are also some intelligent ones so why on earth are you calling everyone who supports the Combattants ba Combatufi this could be your family members or even fellow bloggers so why the need of stupid name calling and the two are defending the artist fair enough that's what you want to do but do you agree that these artist deserve to play when they taking piss out of people's life in Congo (most notably musicians), forcefully sexing young girls as a policy to join the group and there many other things that artist do not impress any of us do you think that they shouldn't be sanctioned yes or no answer my question?

Trop c'est Trop these artists are not Gods no way they are wrong the should be sanctioned whether it is by the governments, combattants or local-leaders.

Fellow bloggers I enjoyed this blog a lot dearly but I will not accept this type of message sent towards people for example "Combatufi" please stop I'm allowed to support what I want and when I want because it is a free-will world so please chill, SLY I like you a lot and respect your views and I think you very intelligent with most attachments you mention but please stop combattants terrorist or whatever as they are people like you and it's hurting me whether you will or not it's up to you. Jdog I like you as-well enough your probably pro Ferre & Koffi and some of your comments are funny please don't tell me to get out of this site just because I'm supporting another group this isn't fair I don't stop you from supporting Koffi (especially through this conflict) so please guys stop and answer my question in a noble way please Thank you (don't take it personal).

Newside, I don't know how many times I have said it but policing is a matter of the govt not ordinary individual like combattants who are mostly failed asylum seekers who want to be seen to be politically active in order to strengthen their immigration cases. Human rights abuses happen everywhere even here in the UK and worse in America. Musicians are selfish quite alright but they are like any other employer, they pay less wages but still people they employ are still able to put food on the table, their is gross instability in congo and you don't expect the govt there to even start monitoring who is paying who what, there is probably not even a set minimum wage so musicians pay whatever they like and their staff are happy otherwise they would have quit their jobs a long time ago so your excuse about abuse by top stars does not hold water too.

If combattants want to tackle Kabila they know where to find him, musicians are used as scapegoats because they are an easy target so am afraid and sorry if you feel hurt but to me the combattants remain a terrorist group or can you please explain this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4E1tXS4Y3A

Zacharie Babaswe a parliamentarian and outspoken politician who has no good words for combattants was recently in France they didn't do anything to him so why should ordinary citizens like musicians, their bodyguards and fans be targeted, these have no influence on kabila, kagame and Yoweri Museveni. Even kagame has been here several times all they could manage is pelt his car with eggs at Oxford University.

As for you getting out of this site, am sure jdog was just joking, we all know each other here now and joke about so it's not something you should take personal.

Newside, when I said for you to leave the forum I was joking. This is a forum where we like Congolese music and you're comments come off like your either a or in support of the combattants. And for the Combatufi name I'm sorry if you felt offended but that's how I and many others fell about them. If they want to stop Kabila then fine but don't ban musicians from performing in Europe where they got paid the most. There are many videos of combattants acting more crazy then animals in the wild. If they're not violent why did they act violent in stopping Jb from playing the Zenith last year?? The combattants are just nothing but thugs who need to get beaten by the police for acting so stupid. They can march and make Youtube videos all they want but just let the musicians play in Europe.

Why are you being negative?? Oza Combttant? If your not one then why can't you just be postie and hope this conflict gets resolved Jb's Zenith was very close to getting played and that's a good sign and Werra also wants to play at the big Paris venues again for Ingeta. Congolese musicians are not giving up and they shouldn't give up.

Once again I do agree with you the majority of Combattants seen in the media like two sorts of combattants, the ones with political backgrounds totally show massive influence with philosophy of the combattants, as a whole I can say it's a 50/50 organization between normal congolese diaspora population and ex-congolese politicians (so there is some political background within the movement).

Human rights agreed it happens everywhere in the world but in Congo it's quite different especially with soit disant "Presidnt" Kabila Jr. who has totally wrecked the country in my opinion and by the big artists supporting him it was total betrayal why because Kabila & PPRD are responsible along with other movements for 8 Million deaths of Congolese population and for the artists who very in-fluent in Congo to support Kabila was upsetting even though they are allowed support whoever they want but their choices were disappointing to the diaspora, along with their behavioural problems towards their colleagues, workers, administrators and several other people sparked an issue to the Combattants and once again going back to Human rights most big artists have connections with main political party so you stand up for rights your life is completely wrecked so that means artists are in control of what they want to do whenever whether it's right or more time wrong (you see where problems begin) so they complete exaggerate with actions and yes it has to be stopped in the Mobutu days or even Kabila's senior days artists had their limits but it's completely crushed, artists take this dominance all they way to Europe so I thought combattant did a good job stopping them so they can come to there senses after years of observation. SLY you must be disappointed that the artists never took this period as transitional period to change things may I know views on this please?

Jdog don't it's all love man I was a bit upset at the time but I'm fine now  :)

All I'm going to say is that, I agree with the combattants is when they are against Kabila butin terms of removing him they don't because if they were really brave they would go to Congo (If they have the money of course) and fight for DRC liberation.

I really don't get how combattants say no concerts but it's ok to still listen to the music and even buy it in stores. And yes combattants will start beating up people if they try to go to concerts.

Newside, if there are any politicians in the combattants group then they too just wanted to strengthen their own political asylum cases. I don't think any of the politicians or individuals in the so called combattants movement have made any significant moves to oust Kabila. This movement is a pro-Tshisekedi group and there are many people who also don't like Tshisekedi.

Kabila is thought to be Rwandan but there is no significant proof but we cannot rule that out however Kabila is not responsible for the atrocities, Kabila's and the DRC's enemies are Museveni and Kagame. Kabila Jnr and his father were aided by these countries to oust Mobutu, these two Presidents expected Kabila Jnr to act as they wished with the most silly plan being assimilation of the Ugandan and Rwandan militia into the regular army of the DRC and I bet you know what would have happened had that been done so because Kabila didn't honour their agreement as he wanted a sovereign army for the Congo, he became their enemy and these are the ones who use their army and they sponsor militia groups to attack, this is in order to protect their own interests in the east, those interests(diamond mines) support their own personal and national agendas. If the combattants really care about The DRC then they should be targeting Kagame and Museveni as these two are the cause of the instability in eastern Congo ,this instability means the govt is diverting a lot of money to defend it's territory. Tell me, if Kabila stepped down today what would become of Congo?

Kabila has transformed the country despite the war in the east of the country, I don't know if you understand economic indicators but if you don't then even Wikipedia or other google results will show you that although the situation remains fragile, there has been a lot of development going on steadily, the major problem is the lack of systems due to the mess in which the country was during war so it's difficult for the current govt to control all areas effectively otherwise there is a bit of stability overall.

To me the real combattants are the likes of Alain Mpela who left Europe and returned to Congo in order to contest for seats in parliament in opposition parties, that is the best way to go about things, let those people who think they can help change Congo pack their bags and return to DRC and help provide opposition to kabila's party by mobilizing themselves on the ground and get more votes for parliament not just shouting and killing innocent musicians.

Here is to good democracy, people in Kinshasa carrying out a peaceful demonstration against the constitutional amendment. Let combattants go and join these people.

I also listened to the full discussion between Marc and Laura, they have spoken really well, they only made a mistake of saying combattants have a reason to stop musicians from performing in Europe, it's not the duty of combattants to stop music by force, they should use legal means if possible to block musicians from performing not violence that's when i'll agree with them and with you Newside and others who support the combattants.

Voila. With good lawyers they can find ways of legally stopping musicians like Koffi, JB, Werra and others from performing in Europe especially where human rights are respected.
