The vocal he did in that concert was very good and if when he came back to QL in 2003 why did he leave again? And he was broke and homeless at one point?

He didn't leave until 2011. Koffi used to ignore him. He never select him to go in Europe. In 2007-2008 he deleted his vocals from BEK.

Wow, it seems like Koffi had something against Babia for some reason. Yeah Babia is in the BEK clips but didn't have a vocal which is odd.

Today i was trying to listen to all his vocals and i had a strange feeling when i realised that his last true vocal was in 1999(plus one of 13 seconds in abracadabra)
anyway, his voice will be forever missed in quartier latin

Yes he spend 17-18 years in Quartier Latin (1993-2001 & 2003-2011) , he sung in 5 albums ( Magie,V12,Droit De Veto,Attentat and Abracadabra) he did one song (Amen) he missed Ultimatum & Loi (I think maybe Koffi prefered Bouro because he was a better dancer I wonder why he wanted 4 singers in Ultimatum because he had a very good chorus at that time archos do you know why ? And Sam said that recorded Ultimatum in Kenya with Babia but the producer lost every datas so they re-recorded the whole record in Europe without Babia archos did you know that either ?) Force De Frappe (Koffi prefered Mustapha for the Attentat Tour which includes the Bercy concert ),Monde Arabe, Danger De Mort,BEK while still a member of QLI. He participated in Loi and BEK videos despite not singing in those albums.

Koffi took only 4 singers because babia had been arrested due to something with drugs so koffi was reluctant to bring him back to europe, so much that everybody was surprised that he return to kinshasa after olympia and zenith
they though since he missed tour he'd want to remain to europe
babia himself explained in a interview that its like that drug affair which happened after V12 if i remember well made his relationship with koffi become strange
indeed some songs were done in kenya,from example zaniha of keyboard player ondoma which was later used in droit de veto and in that interview i am talking about babia even sang his parts which should have been in ultimatum and one was interpreted by bouro the rest not used on album
hopefully i 'll find that interview again thats an interview from when he was still in latino
indeed like you say bouro also had huge dancing advantage,same for mustapha who had dancing advantage aswell
from the return of olympia and zenith he became a bit of a marginal member of the group used very sparingly( like adjedje in maison mere)
by mentioning adjedje just realised how much their career post- big french halls is almost similar...

That drug affaire happened during the Magie era I think and after his release from jail he participated in V12 with Suzuki,Modogo,Sam and Eric and the group went back to Kinshasa. If i understood well Koffi took only 4 singers because of that affair maybe he didn't want that something similar happened to another musician.The songs in Kenya were made before or after the arrival of Bouro ? Did Willy Bula and Eric participated to the first version of Ultimatum ?
I totally agree with you but Adjani is still in trouble contrary to Babia who used to struggle to release his album and who stop his drug addiction

Vraiment mawa Adjani na Chokoro I don't why Koffi and Werra these talents go to waste Adjani was probably the best singer in Maison Mere when he properly focused epuis Chokoro deja voix du siecle but for me Chokoro should have followed Sam and Bouro when Academia was made I don't know why on earth he refused.

Babia refused to join that Academia-idea, because he was a pro-Koffi. He did even snitch Sam, Dolce and co to Koffi that they wanted to create a band. Which gived Koffi the idea to recruit some musicians, while touring in Europe.

So it seems like Babia was just a reserve member in Quatier Latin and that's sad because he did a lot of work for Koffi and he told Koffi about Sam and co creating their own band so Koffi should've rewarded him with vocals,songs and tours. And he was a really good singer.

Damn, that last clip really shows how he suffered after leaving Quartier Latin, so sad to see him in that state,that's the time Koffi should have really helped him, this guy was the best singer Koffi has ever had and he's admitted it himself. Even when he returned to Quartier Latin Koffi still treated him like an outcast and made him same level as the new recruits he called 'Les Mineur' and that's when he became a laughing stock together with Montana Kamenga, Montana left but Babia remained but was still ignored by Mopao,sad.
In my language we have a saying which is translated as ''help a person whilst he's still living and suffering not when he's died and he's returning to the dust'' as when someone dies, it doesn't matter if you bury him in a gold plated casket, it doesn't matter if you bury him in a Gucci suit and shoes, they will just rot 6 foots under the ground, help someone now and not when he's gone.
I understand Koffi has said he'll provide all that is needed to for Babia's funeral, i also hope he also helps out his children and maybe recruit Babia's brother who looks just like Babia and sings like him,that will be good remembrance for Babia.
On another note, which year did Babia and Bendoson play for Jolino?
It seems most top artists artists of today have gone through Jolino's band, let's expand on this more, i know Bill Clinton, Rio Kazadi and many others, please remind me of the others and when was this concert, was this playbacl or live, the sound was perfect!!

They did play for Jolino from 2001 till 2002. They both left after financial disagrement.

actually what i meant is the way both rarely sung on albums for more than 10 years and the way we could do almost one year without seeing them on stage once
indeed like jdog says he became pretty much a reserve singer,so much that when koffi decided to promote cindy she was even singing babia's parts( and tenorists and 1ere voix guys in general) and babia told to go on backstage so at some point he fel too humiliated but did not have courage to leave koffi who became like a father and idol for him and it was ndjora who motivated him to gamble on solo career like others did

Ah, i actually forgot to mention, i heard Shakakongo mention this in another interview last friday, i wonder who Djorkaeff was with before joining Dakumuda, i have heard the name mentioned somewhere.
