Someone told me that JB's divorce with Amida was along beside his 5 year ban in Europe one of the big reasons of his big downfall in his carreer, because it was like his had broke his pact.
Koffi had many conflicts that year him against Wemba, BCBG and Zaiko.
I think that Sam was attacking BCBG, because they were the only band who were always talking about 'Toza Humble, Humble', after their first Europe-tour.

Pfff till this day I don't understand why the Amcmco voted Werrason as best star of the year '98 instead of Koffi. Koffi won 1 Kora Awards that year, performed at Olympia, Zenith and many stadiums and concert-halls in Africa who were all sold out, while Werra didn't prove something on the international level.

You are correct he played Zenith and Olympia along with the tour yes your correct for me I would have gave to BCBG for in 1998 they were well ahead of their time compared to Quartier Latin, I think Werra won it because they felt sorry for him. 98 was a good year though in the music scene look at that Quartier Latin team to how it is now.

there was an image of a reunion which they quickly cut on tv of ndule awards i think in 2010 and one of the journalists was clearly saying they had to make everyone happy with their trophies,and that artist X was their pire vieux

Yes BCBG as best band(nobody could beat them that year), but JB not as best star, '99 but not '98. Because Koffi did prove more on the international level that year, while JB was more ghetto.

Yes that's true, this does remind me Kester's interview where he was saying that the Congolese press was killing our music by letting the best behind.
