Good to know that you're now going back to listen to music from the archives, this way you'll realise that you're too quick to judge musicians who are doing different music today, they've been there done that and are capable of repeating this.

I only listened to this for the first time yesterday because I saw it and I was like what was this, and if they are capable of doing this again how come they haven;t??

The same way Werrason, Koffi, JB and the rest of them have changed their generique styles is the same way Viva has changed, bands are always experimenting that's why we are not getting anything like Solola Bien, Effrakata, Titanic etc otherwise they are all capable of doing better if they go back to the old styles.

Jb too, without makaba, bula, afande,titina etc, nothing much can ge done. Even werrason is struggling to do his old formula. You need the right kind of people around you.

Jb too, without makaba, bula, afande,titina etc, nothing much can ge done. Even werrason is struggling to do his old formula. You need the right kind of people around you.
They are all capable of doing old formula it's just laziness and trying to go with the flow. Look at what Fally and Mbuta Likasu have done with their albums, old formula on sebene but still sounding good. JB Mpiana did it on Anti Terro and TH without all those big names and he's done it in the recent past with hits like Quel est ton problem and Kipe Ya Yo.

Alpatchino was key to wembas sebenes. Without him, weak generics and sebenes. MHSRIP.

good album, sebenes etc is all about quality, Sly. Its not just shouting, hitting instruments etc. The quality of singing, rapping, playing instruments, dancing etc needs to be done by a good unit. TH had remnants like Titina, Afande, caludji, jb himself. Now listen to kipe yayo, QETP, you cant honestly compare to older cds of jb.

There was nothing special about Alpacino's animation, am sure had he still been alive today and doing animation for Papa Wemba you would have been calling him an old fart like you do with Kibens and company since he was not a youngster.
Music changes with time so Papa Wemba upgraded like everyone else, his atalukus led by Biscuits des Ecoliers and Bob Djamusket and others have been defending molokai for years and Alpacino couldn't match their creativity that's why he went to singing full time just like Tutu Kaludji did when youngsters like Genta came.
Viva's generiques may not be as powerful as those of Wenge and it's deliberate, Viva's music is more traditional like that of Swede Swede and other traditional congolese bands otherwise, Biscuits Des Ecoliers and Bob Djamusket beat most of these atalukus in some of the big bands we support. I will do a compilation of sebenes by Viva and post here.

My brother, you can think of me in any way you want,the fact is that i understand lingala and when am not sure i ask, our congolese brothers here can attest to that,i bombard them with questions as am constantly learning. It is through my understanding of lingala that now i can tell what is trash and what is not, there was nothing spectacular about Alpacino's animation, it was the usual animation,he didn't introduce anything different, those who brought new styles of animation are already known so i stick to my words, there was nothing special that Alpacino created moreover Viva's music has always been about harmonious singing and traditional melodies not sebene or generiques therefore in sebene dept they've been average, Viva stepped up their game on the album Somotrop as that's when the animation and guitar arrangement changed completely.
