Was this the reason why Koffi Olomide was returning to do rumba's instead of sebene-albums like Effrakata, Droit de Veto and Attentat ?
And was this also the begining of an underground-war against Karmapa ?

yes ndeko this was the beginning and i think papa tabu ley saying clearly that he kind of messed up his identity by trying to compete with wenge guys who were more into sebene and saying that karmapa set the bar high and knowing koffi he will go in studio and work hard to match that level touched koffi a lot,especially being compared to a "nobody" then like karmapa

I agree with you as well back in the day like in the late 80s early 90s I wasn't a big fan of Koffi he was a bit boring but I did have respect for him because he made good music (just look at Reddy I love him but his a behind the Wenge's) now imagine Reddy copying the Wenge's ;D, it is the same with Koffi did he abandoned the slowness and added some youth energy I think that benefited him a lot but I can see still why Tabu Ley is having a go at him.
