After all this time Thierry Mogratana still have that taste, that gic, that sprinkle in the guitar even though he played old ssolos I honestly taught some solos of him in Alerts Generals were of Kapaya but really good the other guitarriste it's Arc En Ciel he have been working since Kimbangu's departure I guess and he played Satellite and In get a really really good youngster and he keep going like this maybe he can be between Kimbangu and Kapaya, I love the Musselu and the elastique solo very good well done, but, you know I always ask myself why Mogratana isn't considered as one of the best recent era guitarriste along with Kapaya and Look Kimbangu

Thierry Mongratana is a very versatile player. If you are the lead in Viva La Musica where they don't play "regular" chords, licks in general, then you are golden. I must also say that Thierry benefited from shifting to WMMM where he really reached his peak. Like you said, sometimes you couldn't tell if it was Flamme or Thierry playing. He should be up there with the likes of Flamme who revolutionized guitar playing in today's congolese music. Personally, I would pick him before Kibamgu.

Big difference in style of playing between Thierry and Kapaya, for me it was easy to tell who was playing and it's the case for most guitarists. Mogratana first came close to Kapaya's style on his song Esclave D'amour from the album Temps Presente otherwise he was always the weakest link and was mainly on mi-solo but look at Kimbangu, went straight to solo as he's a colour copy of his idol Kapaya.

You may be right that the style of playing is different, but as far as being able to tell from listening to a WMMM song during that time, Thierry was more than just a mi-solo. On the song Simeon @6:00, he did such a wonderful job that you would think it was Flamme.

Yes in th albuem the last brigade's part, elengi a sous-sol was of Mogratana ne did some really good stuff even in Viva La Musica did an excellent job the fact is that I think he suffered to not being anymore the only soloist when he went to Wenge Music a but he really upgraded and improved his style, but in I get a he didn't made much honestly[/quote]Compared to the main generique,what Thierry did was of poor standard compared to Flamme's on the same album,just listen to how he poorly executed the solo signature at Min 9:10 and compare to Kapaya's on the generique Sous Sol......no wonder Werrason never really cared much about Thierry or even give him much time to showcase his work in concerts like he did with Kapaya, Christian Bombole,Kimbangu or even the young Arc en Ciel......... basically Mogratana's style is not Werra's preferred soloing type that is why he was mainly stuck on mi-solo which he has really mastered but on the other hand he's more complete than Kapaya who struggled on mi-solo,it's the same for the new boy Arc En Ciel,you can tell from the first clip you posted that his mi-solo is crap that's why he was simply tapping on the strings then later he started playing basic rhythm when they swapped roles.

Exactly, Werra loves complicated guitar works and it's what makes his music exceptional no wonder every soloist who joins Maison Mere has to reach the standard that Kapaya left on the generique Sous Sol,so far only Christian Bombole and Kimbangu played Kapaya's style with ease and didn't have to play rhythm or mi-solo before become lead soloist but Mogratana went on mi-solo firsat, he left the band, came back then left again just like with Japonais who also likes basic old styles of soloing.
No disrespect to Mogratana, he's still an excellent soloist and his mi-solo is simply the best,he showed his true worth as a soloist on his song Esclave D'amour and confirmed himself on this one
