Just thinking about the good old days of music (early 2000s) and was wondering which would be a more feasible feat if one tried to replicate it. So here's the question: If you were a promoter and have the fund to pay all the musicians and have a venue like zenith to fill, which of these two album would you select to promote au grand complet (I mean everybody that participated on the album) between A la queue leu leu of Werra and WMMM and Effrakatta of Koffi Olomide and QL and why? Which of these two albums do you think will pull the most crowd and fill the halls? Which of the two leaders do you think has the magic to bring all the boys together for a concert of this magnitude?

Effrakata remains one of the most popular Congolese albums ever made, it crossed borders. Wherever I have played the generiques from this album at any party i am guaranteed that the dancefloor will be full of activity,it's the same for Solola bien and Loi. On Effrakata are other rhumba songs which proved popular too. A la queue Leu Leu was a good album because of the actual dance 'Koyimbi Ko' so only the generique itself is known,the rest of the songs only hardcore fans probably know them.

Effrakarta generique is tough to replicate live, I would roll with A la queue leu leu.

I don't think so..........I have a DVD where it was replicated. with Titina on drums and Ya Fofo on lead, no problem.

i would go for a la queue leu leu,even if effrakata is quite strong aswell,and as for the crowd factor if there is one artist you can 'trust" as far as crowds are concerned its werra,no wonder the very same koffi needed werra's help to fill martyrs in that same period

If anything, it think it's a known fact that Werra is one of the best showmen in the business. He knows how to get the crowd going. Koffi on the other hand is old and can barely move around no matter how catchy the dance or song is. He would have to rely on the Burros, the fallys to pump life into the show.

Maybe you need to have a look at your original question again, maybe we are not getting things clearly.
Koffi has a more international appeal than Werrason and every producer would prefer him to Koffi and he Koffi can actually bring his ex musicians together,pay them and do a show where as with Werrason is near impossible as they have completely severed relations. It's easy for Koffi's ex employees to reconcile with him and one another so even today he can perform if not for the so called combattants. Koffi has gone to Europe with a skeleton band, picked up his former musicians and some freelancers and still filled the same big venues.

Actually, the question is still the same: Which of the two (Koffi or Werra) can effectively replay the selected album with a the same crew that participated. It's just everyone's opinion of which is more feasible is different because of personal taste.
And yes koffi has more international appeal than werra. As a matter of fact, I knew about Koffi (allo allo papa) before I discovered Werra by way of Wenge Musica (pentagone).
and yes, I think Koffi can get all his old musicians back together (although not sure Fally would want to participate since he's the most successful of the bunch).
So it's not really about dancing or showmanship, it's about the feasibility of making this happen. Both albums were great but one is still better than the other one.

I agree with Effrakata even though Werrason at the time was no.1 I mean he became so influential even above monument Koffi but fair play to him because he really became a clan Wenge member even though he is older albums like Effrakata is landmark album that anyone could listen (from Grand-dads to toddlers) it had songs for everyone Rumba fanatics, Seben heads, folk fans and etc. I've never seen a with such impact like that before Koffi really upped his game on that album.

The studio work on that album was top notch that's why it's tough to replicate live especially the generique.

thinking about how difficult it is to replicate some songs in live,i for example have never ever heard 13 ans of maison mere sounding anything like whats on the cd,there are many examples like that where they "adapt " the song

There's nothing difficult to replicate. The same instruments used to record albums are the same instruments that are used for playing live. Yes there are a few effects used when recording in studio but generally in Congolese music effects are kept to the minimum and mainly produced by the synthesiser/keyboard so Effrakata,13 Ans etc can be played live without any issues, they don't have to sound exactly as recorded on tv, there are several concerts out there on youtube where Effrakata songs were played here is one

EMO probably didn't see the soloist otherwise Fofo never played lead with Quartier Latin,he was alternating between rhythm and mi-solo but he plays lead too and has done so on albums by mainly new generation musicians just like Musikasika does these days.
