Title: Aime Kiwakana - Anybody know when he died?

Can anybody tell me when this great artist from  O.K. JAZZ died?, can't find much on him.

I miss some of the old crowd. I bet you would've found an answer to your question.
But it appears he passed on in 1992 according to Franco website http://kenyapage.net/franco/after.html

Anyway Kiwakana was one of my favourite singers. Imagine how shocked I was when I found a video of him singing with Dr. Nico and Izeidi and Manu Dibango for Africa Jazz. I had no idea his career goes that far back.

Ah yes, Kiwakana I believe started his career back in 1962-3. Indeed a great singer he was. I believe the young Malage de lugendo succeeded his position in TPOK in the mid-80s because their voices are quite similar.

It still amazes me how Simaro & Franco recruited so many types of excellent singers to interpret songs.
