Effrakata is the best Congolese album off all time because it has everything Congolese music has to offer good dances,animation,rhumba,salsa,R&B,folklore and last but not least hard hitting sebene. Every single song in this masterpiece of an album is a classic. Everybody who worked in this album is known from the producer David Monsoh and dancers like Patience,Ibembo to instrumentalists like Binda Bass to animators like Brigade Sarbati and to singers like Fally Ipupa. The choruses in this album was really good and guys like Fally showed their animation skills. The sebene in this album is the best sebene I've ever heard and the the changement de frequences n Efrrakata are good. Some sebene it's the bass that's tuned up and in another one it's the drums. This album had everything for all types of fans and it mixed in perfectly. And also this the album that got Koffi not one not two not three but FOUR Koras.

Effrakata was the Zenith of Koffi's career. As you've stated, the album offered the best of everything. Lots of experienced heads went into this album and production quality was superb. The album was a breath of fresh air but, as we now know, it set the bar too high. Affaire d'Etat was even better from an acoustic standpoint (well ahead of its time) but it was a group album and it was not as well promoted. Same case with Emeneya's Longue Histoire versus Nouvel Ordre.
I've listened to Effrakata hundreds of times and was fortunate to have my CD signed by Koffi. Also got to perview some songs like Washington when he was here in NYC with QL back in Summer '01.
What I will say is that the massive success of Effrakata went to head, much more so than his previous successes, and the accolades (Quadra Kora Man and others) gradually led to the Koffi (or is it Kofffi :D) we have today. This was once a shy man who spent years in the 80's trying to make a name for himself.
Best Congolese album of all time is very subjective.... Lots of great albums.

Matebu you can't blame Koffi for the way he acted with success of Effrakata because that album really put him out there even more and it was like he was cementing his legacy after all those years of hard work. What album is better then Effrakata? Yes there is many other great albums but Effrakata was great because it's variety of music and how it blended in perfectly.

I agree with you 100%! i was listening to the album yesterday its his best work to date if only god can turn the clock then we wouldn't have cindy and her garbage!!!!

dont get me wrong effrakata is a good album and made koffi get even more succes internationally but werrason kibuisa mpimpa is the best congolese album to come out in the 21st century sebenes are way better than effrakata sebenes and the different genre of songs compared to effrakata.

Effrakata vs kibuisa = draw.. tie... match nul ...head to head ....kiff kiff..lol however effrakata and kibuisa may be the best albums of each clan but not classics.. i rather go with classics such as l'orfevre ( les prisoniers dorment ), loi and solola bien or maybe TH. BUt still effrakata and kibuissa are the best .

I, too, find affaire d'Etat slightly better than Effrakata bcuz Im a sucker of distorted guitar! But my prblm with A.E was the lack of catchy dance( piwawa could've been taken for "Montre moi)

Anti tero suffered the loss of titina and yes poor recording. Jb has cursed himself all these years due to poor recording and i wonder why....
