well thats a massive compliment ok jazz is one of the biggest groups of african history,but unfortunately people are so nowadays... i dont even know what to call it,that getting old is like a crime or something shameful...

What an insult to Papa Lutumba, Josky and other surviving members of OK Jazz. I don't think Franco's son who has now revived OK Jazz will be happy with the remarks by Sai Sai, it's even unfortunate that kids like you Jdog find this sort of language funny. TPOK Jazz was the biggest and probably the most successful band in Africa,ask your parents about TPOK Jazz maybe they will educate you so that you shamefully quit on your arrogance. Nothing personal but I have just picked up that you are simply clueless and quite young hence your wrong judgement and why you find Sai Sai's remarks amusing.

i have managed to watch interview,he said he does not want to mention jb because jb said he did not want him anymore(which obviously jb did not say,but its genta and maybe a couple of bcbg singers who reacted) but then kept throwing indirect attacks throughout interview
and again that comparison with ok jazz is pure ignorance in the days of hot polemic between bcbg and maison mere,sankara once said something like that aswell and got told off by i think naty or jacky ndala but then its the fault of that stupid logic people have that bands should always only have young people,i am sure if franco was still alive and papa lutumba still in his fifties today people would mock him for being old and "overstaying" in the group,today being loyal to a group is badly seen

When you guys couldn't see through what sai sai said....i saw through it except i was too busy to comment. But to me he is correct. No Congolese can be wrong when a Zambian is thinking in his line of thinking. Come on guys....rio ...kibense etc are too old and not even zaiko can take them on.

The issue here is about a very young man insulting Papa Lutumba, Josky, Malage, Carlyto and many other clan TPOK Jazz members still alive and producing music,it's nothing to do with JB. When i say a Zambian....i mean someone outside the Congolese music circles who is not in touch with artists. Sai sai has also got freedom of expression and what he means is that bcbg artists are too old to compete with other bands. He is not wrong. Look at WMM....ferre.....fally....zaiko etc. No one apart from band leaders like nyoka longo can beat rio or kibense age. Lastly revist that word, silly, boyi.

i have a question for you emo,kibens was born in 66 like adolphe,rio is in the generation of the early 70's,so if we take purely the working aspect not career looks or whatever,they have at very least 10 years to go before reaching legal retirement age,if they fXXk off since its what you wish,what do you want them to do to feed their families?do you think they have even 5 per cent of chance to have an equal life than in bcbg
for once,put your hard feelings aside,look at chai,99 of the guys who go solo look brighter outside of groups chai is the total opposite because its not something easy at all to be a leader
music is a job which can be done untill 90's as long as your can sing or play an instrument,so unlike most other job there is no retirement deadline
this obsession around kibens and those 8 max is really worrying,you call yourself a bcbg fan yet you do not see that there is about 10 times as much as younger musicians than them you can appreciate and not give a damn about that bad bunch,in every group of drc including those who shined much there are always been older people,sometimes people older than their boss like papa lutumba in ok jazz,ficarré in bcbg,beniko popolipo in quartier latin...
lastly you talk about competition,but the competition is now virtual for the simple reason that the group itself and especially their boss is not anymore in that logic of compettion with whoever,but rather live in their own world,play their music and earn money
and this is what i have been repeating for months,unless jb decides to come back in that logic of competition,we can write books of moaning nothing will ever change
you can even see something similar with f victeam band which also has loads of guys of boss' age and some older and who just enter that logic of competition some rare times,its simply a matter of vision of each leader

Sounds like Sai-Sai has supporters on this forum, these are probably the same kind of guys that promote skin bleaching! ... anyways everybody is allowed freedom of expression, but, I just think as a public he should've taken a higher moral ground. My opinion.

By the way Sly....thanks for the brick-head album. I will take some time today and listen to the songs. Yesterday I was at some pub and when Selfie was played.....people were all over dancing.

Maybe i misunderstood you so my apologies for the offence caused but you were not explicit enough when you said ''Zambian'' and am Zambian so took exception in the comment,am sure you would do the same if you went on a Tanzanian forum and someone said what can a Zambian say about our music yet you may know some of the Tanzanian music better than even some tanzanians themselves.
We are experienced enough here mudala, yes, i can tell who a good and bad singer and which band is crap and which is good so yes, i know BCBG is an average and non productive band with poor marketing strategy, they exist solely to please Kinshasa based fans and their sponsors Bralima but i will not rant about everyday because JB Mpiana has chosen his business model and it suits him, he's lazy but he knows how he makes his money and he pays well so that's what matters to him and his staff that's why they are all in a comfort zone.
Back to the topic at hand, do you think it would be appropriate for someone like Floyd Mayweather to make a bad statement about Ali Muhammad or even Mike Tyson just because they are inactive,no, there has to be respect. Sai Sai is too little to insult the likes of Papa Lutumba,Josky, Malage and others still entertaining millions of loyal TPOK Jazz band fans around the world.
Wenge BCBG is not finished, they just have the wrong strategy and are too relaxed but when they release music, they are on point, could be better if they were more aggressive but they are content with what they doso we should leave them alone however you're free to rant anyhow you want but sometimes let's be objective. Sai Sai went too far and it's clear he is being funded by Koffi , we have had enough of fighting, let comedians stay in their corner and let musicians do their thing.
