Back in his Jules Presley days. The psychedelic days of Congolese music (Stukas, Bavon Marie, Isifi Lokole, etc.)  fell out of favor with the rise of odemba - 78-80's partially due to l'authenticité.

I remember an interview where talked about how much weed he smoked; you can tell by his very high pitched voice in some songs from that era ;D.
