I came across the August 1990 L'As des As article I have saved in my archives. The speculation of sacrifice surrounding his fatal July 1990 accident was the talk of summer; especially with the build up to the release of Kin é Bouge. In the article JB, Werra, Masela, Makaba, and two individuals close to Kombo give reflections.

Wow, that I did not know. I remember not listening Wenge for a while after whole ordeal after buying into the sacrifice rumors

This does me thinking about one of Ken Mpiana's interview, where he said that albums of our big stars will only have huge succes like in past, if you will hearing again that spokemens, musicians or family members of a band/artist are dying before the release of the album.
Was this incident the reason why Maradonna left and that they brougth Collegien instead of Djolina Mandudila as rhythm player on tour in Europe? Where is Djolina nowadays? Was Aldophe Dominguez not in "Mputuville"at this time? Because don't see him on VHS's of Wenge from 1989 and 1990. Many peoples are saying that he was a member of Wenge Aile Paris original, without Ricoco & Marie Paul. Was he the person who was gossiping to J.B. and Werra about Aime Buanga & Zing Zong forming a band in Europe to counter there succes, in hope to get more singing space and recognition?
I think that this sacrifice-story is true, remember the huge success Wenge had after the release of Kin e Bouge and I saw Aldophe admit in a lilttle documentary on youtube.
This incident had a big attention from the media, but did they made not more sacfrifices, if this sacfrifice is true? Because Kalayi Boeing, Anges Adorables 1, 2 and Pentagone (without counting Feux de l'Amour and Pleins Feux) where also huge succes and Wenge had a huge impact and influence on the Congolese music at some point (atalaku's trying to replicate Ekokota and later Calugi, solists trying to replicate Makaba solo's, artists begining to buy big villa's and expensive cars like Werra, JB, Aldophe, Blaise & Masela) and big stars like Pepe Kalle, Wemba(motivated after Foridoles & Pole Position to start Nouvelle Ecriture), Koffi Olomide(started to throw attacks on Wenge in Noblesse Oblige, started copiying that Versace-style of Wenge from Kalayi Boeing and followed their music-style in Magie '94) and Emeneya(did not dare to return in Kinshasa in '91, sacred to "zinda" like Wemba in '83 & '86 and later motivated to return in '97 in the hope to get his monopoly from 82-88 back, which Koffi, Wemba and Wenge had stolen) fearing Wenge.

yes that incident influenced maradona leaving because usually maradona was the very first to go on stage,if my memory is still correct he left exactly two concerts after and that day don pierrot did not come either so mosaka who was in the crowd asked to play mbonda for that concert and jb went to get titina to play
when the first europe tour arrived some guys were still students,masela for example was lucky that he could finish class a couple of days or weeks before,djolina and alain mpela still had some class so they missed out
djolina lives between kin and angola these days as far as i know which is why he missed out on the wenge "reunion" of few years ago
yes adolphe rehearsed by ricoco,aime bwanga and co at the beginning then when jb werra and co arrived he rejoined them and participated in kin e bouger,el paris did not officially exist until marie paul left wenge in europe complaining about werra not liking him and things like that,then since there was tension when ricoco tried to sing at wenge's first concert it motivated them around their anger,ricoco for not being allowed to sing,marie paul who felt undervalued and strongly stood by ricoco and aime who did not appreciate reaction of his friends to exclude ricoco
i dont think tata gossiped but you know how our musicians are sensitive,jb werra and co arrived when ricoco and co started to get some popularity around their rehearsals ,as usual with congolese musicians in such situation the first idea was to see the guys like potential rivals,remember nsone and his pire petits ferre and co when tata stayed here and started building himself some nice personal success
one thing which also boosted big time kin e bouge success is how they got jailed when arrested with fake passports,jb then changed the song to include how they experience time in jail and it rejoiced people who were becoming jealous of them and how there families were sad
of course there is a lot of masolo ya kati for the years after kin e bouger
