Fally should also start crediting the songwriters who write for him. It's 2026, we all know Congolese artist but songs, Fally should start crediting them. Hopefully, Djodjo Lina, El Dorado get credits on XX

This is my first post, I don't know if this is where I should be posting etc...

Idk if it's just me, but seriously, I lowkey hate Fally's new style. It's too modern.. too french, I miss his Droit Chemin and Arsenal de belle melodies style, not Deux Ètres.. or whatever it's called.

Honestly, I feel like our rumba is going down.. Koffi is still there, but he's also very modern, and Cindy isn't helping.

Fally's talented.. but this frenchisation is slowly deteriorating Congolese music, we need more Lingala, Kikonho, Tshiluba.

In my opinion of course but, I'm tired, and this generation (not the Koffi's, Fally, Ferré... but younger G's teens and younger adults) aren't really into that. Back in the day you had 16 yr olds making excellent music e.g Bebe Kero, today miziki ekomi pamba pamba, to lembi...

What talent does Fally have exactly?

@Matebu

I was really impressed by this album, it was certainly ahead of it's time!

I thought Wenge Musica had reconciled with Sadam Hussien with Tempete de Desert from the 1994 album Anges Adorables, whay happened in 1995 that upset Mobutu so much to obstruct their careers in Kinshasa?

How did the Alain Makaba get involved in the Wake Up project with Koffi and Wemba? What songs did he play guitar on?

I believe what drove him was the fact that he was settled in Europe full time while Wenge BCBG 4x4 was still based in Kin, so this album was of financial necessity. It’s big  success was not really anticipated… it was to keep SonoDisc happy and recorded quickly, so some of the intended feature singers did not make it. Pepe Kalle had already to Kin after his Europe tour.

Wake Up was supposed to a trio-project Koffi-Wemba-Makaba, but Koffi wasn’t having that happen so he was demoted. The funny thing is that the album was created to take attention away from Wenge 4x4 and here you have a founder assisting.

The two songs where he’s credited on Wake Up playing Solo.
- Zaintoin
- Esakola
Makaba has a signature and intricate sound with his Steinberger M series guitar, so you can tell it's him playing. This goes for all his credited work

Caen Madoka, Beniko, Maika Munan, Do Akongo, & Yves Ndjock did the lion’s share of the work on guitars.

He’s not credited for it, but I know he assisted with arrangement. It was predominantly Philphe Guez in that department on synthesizer heavy songs - Avion (composer Do Akongo), Litio ya Calendrier (Colombani Wasenga), Maryama (Composer: Philphe Guez/Koffi), Esakola (Wemba?), Wake Up (Colombani Wasenga), Moussoukou-Soukou (Koffi)

The acoustic songs were handled by Maika Munan, Do Akongo, & Beniko
- Dodo (Maika Munan), Naomie (composer Koffi? or was there a ghostwriter?), Mi Amor (Koffi)

Naomie was written by the late Mongali and Esakola was written by Bogus Bompema

Congolese Lyrics / Re: Koffi Olomide -Coucou
« on: December 22, 2025, 00:08 »
Coucou is a song by his former rhythmic guitarist Do Akongo. It talks about love being a dilemma that troubles both the young and old. In he song, the author tells the love interest not to think of them from the photo they have because depression has totally deformed them to the point that they look like a starving Somalian.

The difference is that Koffi is a complete musician (songwriter, guitarist, singer, arranger) whereas Fally and Ferre are merely singer that buy compositions from El Dorado, Djodjo Lina, Pida Star ect.

1. Lutumba Simaro
2. Koffi Olomidé
3. Max Mongali

How many unreleased songs from the V12 era are there?

10
Who is El Dorado currently working with?

11
It's good to see vieux El Dorado. Mbuta Likasu or someone else needs to interview him. He's one of the greatest songwriters in Congolese music

We're tired of the monotonous Tcha-Tcho rythm. Koffi should buy her songs from guys like El Dorado, Djodjo Lina or the guy that wrote Ferre's Pigeon Voyageur, Double Taux, Second Chance. Or even try the Odemba style

13
He also wrote that part of Elegance that Koffi sang back in 1988 - 1992 in concerts. You would notice that at 7:51 that part was in Elegance

14
Did Eldorado also write Meilleur Moment in Sens Interdis?

I said might be, not he is. The stories we hear about Koffi as a person from numerous individuals shape this perception. But as far as talent and skill go, no one is close to him.
