No, he just made some compromises and self-funded a large part of the recordings.
Monde Arabe came out around the same period as Alerte Générale and Miracles. At the time, people criticized Koffi’s génériques and it took some time for the public to accept the album because the concept was different and more focused on rumba. Koffi had to defend himself in different interviews that generiques can't be listened everywhere, giving the example when couples are in a bedroom, prefering to listen to Aliya, Eputsha and Pomme Verte.
It was only around February/March that the album slowly started to get accepted and at some point reaching No. 1 on all music charts of Kinshasa. Ferre’s arrival boosted the album’s popularity even more.
Apparently, there were some issues between Koffi and Nadim during the promotion. Koffi wanted to release the music videos quickly, but Nadim wanted to get more profits from the sales of Monde Arabe. This made the official DVD of Monde Arabe getting released one year after the album came out.
While fans in Europe, Africa and America did not have the DVD, people in DR Congo could watch the music videos on television. Koffi provided footage to different TV channels to promote Monde Arabe, when the album came out. However, the clips of Silivi, Aliya and Esili were censored by 'Commission de Censure', which banned them from being broadcast on television because the commission considered them obscene.
Despite the differences Koffi and Nadim had, they continued working together on Danger de Mort. However, it has been said that Nadim suspected Koffi of pirating his products in Brazzaville and Kinshasa, which created a conflict. This delayed the album’s release by a month. Things only got worse when the EP Swi Chocolat Chaud was released just two months after Danger de Mort. Nadim saw it as sabotage and sued Koffi.
There was no record label that could match, let alone surpass, the amount of money Koffi was getting from Sonodisc. Attentat was the final album under his contract with Sono. Several labels approached him, but they backed out after seeing Koffi’s demands. Koffi stayed with Sono as result, which became Next Music after merging with another label. However, both Koffi and Papa Wemba ended up getting fired, Next Music went bankrupt shortly afterwards.
Koffi Olomidé had for the same reasons problems to find a proper recordlabel to produce Monde Arabe. From that point on, Koffi mostly co-produced his own albums
Nadim Sonima was able to meet Koffi’s demands? The album was poorly promoted initially to the point that it seemed like a flop for a while until it surged in popularity in the late 2000’s and again when it finally made to streaming platforms.
It must’ve felt like a huge downgrade from the once formidable Sono. He was literally shopping the album to different potential producers which delayed the album after loosing Sono

I was honestly expecting the Generique to end with the keyboard like wanna dance loool. Also he should’ve hired dancers for the video because it’s awkward seeing him just dance by himself
this dancer's death seems to have cause strong anger from some of the current and previous dancers who are giving infos about how robinio acts(just like most of his colleagues) removing dancers from clips because she refused to sleep with him,organizing private parties with them and making them drink until they just wake up and feel sore in their intimate parts and things like that really sad that the young generations dont change the old bad habits
The guys an idiot, I went to his private rehearsal 4 years ago and honestly he’s a piece of work the way he treats his musicians and dancers.
