here is my take on the debate, my opinion is pretty simple in the past jb like most artists was mainly offered clothes or got clothes stolen for him(the only artist in DRC i am certain who did not accept that is wazekwa and i witnessed it when i happened to be at his house with other guys coming from europe),and at those times jb was more into,french,italian,american depending on trend
and now that he has enough money to buy what he wants,he has gone on stage from a guy who is a very good dresser to being a sapeur,and the biggest goal of sapeurs who have enough money is first and foremost to dress expensive no matter what
what jb is doing now is what the likes of defao and adolphe dominguez or even his idol papa wemba did long ago,its more about enjoying themselves than purely aesthetics reasons,but in some occasions they combine dressing expensive and looking classy
Like said above,its a stage thing, in private jb dressed like he always used to do in the past,its only that recently he's gone hardcore into flashy expensive looks
