Because it's cheating. Making money solely off of shout outs isn't noble in my book and it's bad for business outside of Africa. Most non-Lingala speakers outside of Africa have no idea who those folks are that they're shouting out. For them it kills the music and it's annoying. A La Que Leu-Leu was a great album marred by mabanga spewed by Werrason which is unfortunate because it overshadowed great compositions from guys like Baby Ndombe and JDT.

I agree, it's unfortunate how it's become such an integral part of present music. We can thank? Werrason for making mabanga what it is today. The song 13ans from Kibuisa Mpimpa had about 115 names called out. A La Que Leu-Leu was mabanga overload in just about every song.

They are so money-minded that'll say anything for the right price.
