The year is 2018 now. I remember a time when the future looked bright and clear. In 98 we pretty much knew who were gonna be the stars of tomorrow. We knew Fally and Ferre were going to be the leaders of the new school. It wasnt about the hype it was clearly about their voices.  In the past 10 years, so from 2008 until 2018, what new artists did you hear that you absolutely wanted to hear more from. Not talking about generiques, just in the last 10 years what new recruits did you hear that made you almost press replay because the sound was too sweet to the ear. For my part I’m trying to remember, the last person that made me look forward to new material was the coming out of Merlin Bouton in the song Jugement. Looking forward to hear you guys’ opinion because I’m not as up to date on what happened in  the last 10 years other than generiques. If its any recruits from bcbg or mm please give us a song title so we can hear the talent, or post the song. My second question is what was the best album in the last 10 years from the newer generation, excluding Fally and Ferre. I know heritier, deplick, robinio, cappucino all came out with albums, was there one that stood out more than the rest? Who else came out with albums from that generation and were they any good?

I honestly can't think of any singer that has stood out to me, who I believe will be able to branch out on their own.  Now if you would've asked me 10 years ago would I have thought Deplick and Fabregas would've made it as solo band leaders, I would've told you no.  Fally was just scratching the surface with Droit Chemin at the time, and I thought Deplick was copy cat and I thought Fabregas was unimpressive.  Sometimes great artistry ages with time because Fabregas is flawlessly leading this new generation of band leaders and Robinio is at a close 2nd.  Le Roi de la Foret has to be very proud.

Ndeko, the forum has been a little slow lately in most threads from my observation. I think it's a reflection of what going on the music scene - not much.

The artists i really wish made a concerted effort are Mirage Supersonic (he had so much momentum in 2006-7), Shella Mputu, JDT Mulopwe, and even Roi Soleil. These guys should've been euqal or above artists younger like Fabregas.

They put out very strong freshmen albums (with QL alumni and strong session backing) and did not make a strong effort like Fally & Ferre to follow up and become generational leaders.

What a powerful generique

Ever since Shella moved to Los Angeles it seems he lost interest in wanting to produce music

Just D'ete is the best orginal composer of the 5th generation. All others are too reliant on songwriters, which something that disappoints me. An artist complet is one who sings well and is equally as capable writing songs.

I will think that Fabregas will take the place of Werra: stunning generique but not very powerful rhumbas for the lyricism and only good in the composure like the song Noveau Monde with that "Luya Luya boyakutala Luya"
Koffi really helped him develop that skills/confidence that he needed, I don't think that he would have succeed in this if it wasn't for Koffi help, the crazy fact about Werra unlike Koffi is that he has many heirs, Fabregas for the generique, Ferre for Rhumbas, Deplick, Robinio but I think that only Fabregas will succeed, because he has more hunger, Deplick is waaay to much layback and Kabongo and C'est LA Famille are good generique but not stunning ones, Deplick should be more skilled in the Rhumba department, but I feel that his choirs singers aren't good as him so that creates a little bit of separation.
Robinio will not succeed because he is not a very good singer, and hasn't got very good promotion skills, 4 Letters was fire but Tika Ko and Jouer Le Ballon has been badly promoted, no Spotify preview right away on YouTube, you can do that if you are in upcomer trying to bring as much as power as you can but not as a consumed solo artist like Robinio is.
So to me only Fabregas will be the third after Fally and Ferre the other ones has liabilities

Yeah now you say that I think it will be between Fabregas and Robinio. Tsha Nanu Boye wasnt Mascara-esque in the sense of the buzz but it could get you in a trance. I think the battle for generiques is going to be between those two. Im not really big on Deplick or Heritier for some reason, which I knew more of their past work.

Manzambi, Robinio promotes himself every week on TV and the internet and is constantly on social media that's how's ult his base since he wasn't really known in Maison Mere. Deplick hasn't lived up to the promise he had in Maison Mere and I do believe Fabregas is will be the third guy after Fally and Ferre. Heritier's rhumbas are good but don't really do it for me.

You have got to understand that 4 Letters and Tsha Nanu Boye were o Ndombolhino's channel that can be a huge boost for someone career if he is a Congolese based Congolese musician.
I think that Robinio should have let Spotify run the generique instead of giving Spotify, YouTube ecc all at once, furthermore since he went solo Robinio's generique has never been received well at the beginning, like Tsha Nanu Boye and Especially 4 Lettres, I remember a comment that said "How can you say this 4 letters is good animation is fufu and you keep boosting this guy how he could get better" and many other comments like this before  an unexcepted turn, unlike Tsha Nanu Boye and 4 Lettres, Tika Ko and Jouer Le Ballon hasn't been received well, and I think that his promotion has been badly placed, knowing that Robinio himself is not that much of an internet guy unlike Ndombohlino.
The problem of Wenge ex members is replicating or even exceeding the success of Werra's generique, only Fabregas with that Shame of Zigida competed with Werra in Wenge, Deplick, Robinio, Heritier not even close, Heritier is really bad at generique, it is weird, he got like one guy who kills it, while the other guy just go there.
For Rhumbas I think that Ferre will be the undisputed king for a long time, Fally simply lost every interest in Congolese audience for give any serious rumbas like he was doing in the Droit Chemin days, while Ferre wants to prove a point to everyone and really keeps focus on his rumbas, unlike the generique I think he leaves too much freedom to his atalakus, take Fally, Werra, Koffi they always have a generique where they solo sing and is usually the most successful generique of the album Koffi with Selfie, Werrason with Zenga Luketo, Fally with Original or Elok'Oyo, Ferre simply doesn't have that even in Kipele Kiese Caludji sang while if Ferre sang only would have been a huge huge hit.
For Heritier Rumbas he started very well with BM, D DE D, ABETI FAUX, but he kinda look like he want to imitate Koffi vibe in V12/LOI instead of looking a way of being original so that set back a lot of his potential, the other fact is that Werra is not good as a natural singer like Fally or Ferre so that especially in Koffi's type rumbas it is very hearable, Deplick is a copycat of Fally nowadays and it is a shame furthermore he doesn't have very good songwriters so very much talent wasted, Robinio's rumba are ridiculous, some secu phrase repetitive sound, and Robinio's voice is not very good for a rumba singer, this is the reason Werra kept him in the low department, I think he took him, mostly because of his looks more than his voice or singing skills, like Bon Bon Kojak or Ronaldinio and so on.
