We are seen lots of big channels deleted in recent years, but the biggest page of African music is somehow still around. Lots of copywright violations technically commited. I'm not saying they should be deleted at all, but I'm curious how they figured out the system to still be around. Other great channels got deleted quick, and without notice when someone submitted just one complaint.

I've heard people say Ben Murphy International is a fraudulent Nigerian copyright firm claiming to represent Congolese artists, but I came across these post from someone  who claims to work for them. I think I remember Koffi mentioned Ben Murphy a long time ago?

I work at Murphy Ben Int'l Lagos. We also have a registered office in Congo with almost 40 Congolese working there. 80% of the Congolese mainstream artistes have signed up with us and given us exclusive right to disrtibute their contents on Youtube. These include Koffi Olomide, J.B Mpiana, Wazekwa, Sai Sai just to name a few. We also have exclusive right to lots of TV shows and programs.

Youtube has what is called content ID. If for instance Kofi Olomide authorizes me to upload and monetize one of his tracks and I do so and claim it, the Youtube system will apportion the right to that content to me (in this case Murphy Ben International). The system will also search throughout to determine if any other uploader has the same content either in part or in full. All such contents will also be apportioned to me. Now it is left for me to go through my cms to determine if some of the contents being claimed by me authomatically (i.e through youtube's content ID system) can be considered as fair use.

So if you have a TV program where you interviewed Kofi Olomide and his song plays somewhere in between, the system will claim that your tv program as belonging to Murphy Ben International. We will be happy to review these claims.

That said, Congo is not a monetized country and a lot of infringers are having a field day. If you belong to this group then your days are numbered. Our interactions with many Congolese artists show how they have been stolen from. We have come to stop this trend in Congo.

We have written authorization to all the contents being claimed by Murphy Ben International unlike the rumors making rounds. We also have a registered office in Kinshasa but that does not mean we won't take out time to treat all issues raised by you dispassionately.

As for the 100,000 signatures by Seka Moke. I wish him luck but I don't see anything wrong with legitimately uploading videos belonging to Congolese artistes and paying them revenues derived. These musicians have never received a dime from youtube yet their music videos flood youtube courtesy of thee hawks perching about

Anywaz, as I explained earlier, the youtube content ID system tracked your video. it means it has a match with one of the contents claimed by us. We also aggregate some channels owned by Congolese but linked to Murphy Ben International. Some of these claims are also as a result of claims generated by these Congolese owned channels. We take out time to teach our affiliates how the content id works and when to place an ID on a video. However, if you feel you have a right to a video that is being claimed by us. All you need do is to dispute the claim ( I would also like to add that you can politely dispute claims without being insulting). the dispute will come up in our cms and we will notify the uploader immediately. If he insists and backs it with proof that he owns the exclusive right to the content, then we will reinstate the claim but if we have any shadow of doubt to his claim, then we will release immediately pending our full investigation into the matter.

I think we all need to be educated more in the workings of Youtube. I am glad you said in one of your earlier comments that we released a claim on one of your videos after you disputed it. By the way, it's also good you know that the 2 musicians being interviewed in the video are also both signed by us. But then this is an interview and was uploaded by one of our affiliates who also lays claim to it. We promise to look into it ASAP and get back to you.

You must also know that sanitizing Congo Youtube experience is a Herculean task. You can imagine signing up  a person like Kofi Olomide who is one of African's biggest stars. All of a sudden, content id is placed on his videos and it has ripple effect on hundreds of videos illegally uploaded on Youtube. A lot of them start attacking you and calling you names and writing all sorts about you on the internet. over 90% of the people making noise are the fraudulent ones yet they point fingers at us.They are all scattered over Europe and America. We are in Congo employing Congolese.

 I make bold to say We have exclusive right to videos by Kofi, JB Mpiana, Sai Sai, Felix Wazekwa, Bozi Boziana, Ferre Gola and a host of others. They call us thieves but cannot make such a claim publicly other than to call legitimate youtubers names. Someone like Seka Moke is collecting signatures but can somebody ask her if she got authorization of all the videos she uploaded to Youtube.

We will not be intimidated out of Congo, instead we will stay and show the wonderful people of Congo that youtube works for legitimate people like us and will also work for them

SMH at the fact that DRC has never ever taken artistic ownership rights for anything seriously, so outside countries can take advantage of the situation.

Yeah, I remember Angel Ndouksa (aka Angelucentral) having a short interview with Koffi Olomide 5 years ago at his home with Koffi confirming that Ben Murphy International is his offical representer on youtube. But I cen't that video anymore. That can say alot.
