Koffi Olomide was present but didn t perform. Wemba's wife Amazone was also there with Wemba singing for her Tabu Ley's song Adios Tete.

Back in the days they were saying that Papa Wemba stole Reddy's band, since that the most musicians of Nouvelle Ecriture were accompaying Reddy during his tour in Zaire and Congo Brazzaville in 1995 to his solo album Prudence. But they forget that the same muscians were backing Papa Wemba in his concerts along with Reddy, Asta Paola, Debaba and Dindo Yogo, when he came in 1993 and 1991 for concerts. You can feel that Wemba was slowly replacing Reddy Amisi by Bendson, Pompom Miyake and Iboss. I think that Reddy wasn't noticing that and it was already to late when he discovered that with people comparing Bendoson to him, etc. and his album Etoile flopping. He left Viva La Musica to late, he had to leave Wemba during the time of Prudence, but his love for Wemba was to big and he was to loyal. I think that if would been there until Wemba's death like Lutumba Simaro in TPOK Jazz if he wasn't forced out.

Nouvelle Ecriture was created in 1996 by Papa Wemba, Reddy Amisi & Asta Paola so that they have a band if they would come in Zaïre to have concerts instead of looking for sessions musicians everytime. Viva La Musica was based in Europe, but guys like Stino Mubi became big headed and weren't happy the way Wemba wasn't paying them. Many times if Papa Wemba asked them to return with him to Kinshasa and Brazzaville for concerts they were refusing , asking money and/or giving the phone to their wives if Wemba called. With Wemba then returning to Kinshasa alone with Reddy Amisi and Asta Paola. I remember a part of Viva La Musica-members of Paris going back to Kinshasa only for one time and that was in 1994 to promote Foridoles. Wemba saw that the singers of Nouvelle Ecriture were very talented and called Maika Munan to record with them an album. With then the hitsongs Jeancy, Effo Perso, Mamu Kapinga and Ba Diamants coming out.

It's sad seeing that some of the talents in this concert line-up  have passed! Thanks for sharing these videos, it keeps memories of their accomplished careers alive and well.
