With Suzuki not knowing it and then being arrested in Cameroun for 3 days, it could have been longer if he wasn't a known singer. The moment that he returned was a really bad moment to return to Kinshasa, since that the war just started. If I remember well riots already started in Kinshasa with the population killing the rebels and people who were suspect by themselves on the street with fire, petrol and car tires.  Koffi had alot of guts to ask Suzuki to come back in Quartier Latin after the tour when he returned and Academia being created in Paris.

I remember that Somono, Kamono, Binda Bass & Modogo were in Kinshasa when Koffi and the rest were in Kenya. Koffi wasn't able to return because of the war. With them joining Quartier Latin later in Paris. Modogo didn't dance that during that intro of Olympia, but in the shows that followed he did. The same with Kamono who didn't dance with the girls in the intro. I think that Koffi left them behind for those problems who started in the band of musicians not being satisfied anymore with the money they were getting. Sam Tshintu revelead in a interview that they wanted to start Academia in Burkina Faso, but them abandon that project on the end. Saying they couldn't start a band in a country where it's 41 degrees celsuis. This all made me think that Koffi prepared that Olympia show abroad.

I don't think he will fit in BCBG. His album was very good but it was impossible to succeed at that time with le Carré Magiqur dominating the congolese music scene. It's surprising that this album was not uploaded on YouTube or others platforms.

Wow i didn't know Koffi asked him to return in Quartier Latin in 1999. He did well to refuse I don't see him along the team of Depitcho,Fally,Jordan,Soleil,Gipson ect.

No, I don't think so. If he had the blessing from Koffi and the help of Quartier Latin, maybe it would have been a different story like Faly in Droit Chemin and Reddy Amisi in Queen Lina. Suzuki had already a plateform, visibily & popularity everybody knew him already. He was the image of Quartier Latin back in the days having been there since Pas-de-Faux-Pas.It was just bad luck of releasing that album in the time when Solola Bien, Attentat & Sanction came and that his ex'boss did everything to let him fail. It wouldn't have been a difference if he stayed until T.H. because it's a difference of 1 year.

They uploaded his album on YouTube 4 years ago, but then the channel closed because of those copyrights things, which made the album dissapear on YouTube. The album was on ITunes, Deezer & Spotify, but I don't understand how it dissapeard from these digital platsforms. Its like Affaire Tonya Tonya who also dissapread.

Yeah, his fans were very angry. Zacle asked him about that in the Qui-Dit-Vraie-VHS of Wemba & Koffi with saying that other singers needed also to get a chance to tour in Europe.



You may never know. Koffi is a big strategist. Maybe you would have said the same thing about Eric Tutsi if he wasn't there in the Attentat-line up. I think that it would have gave Suzuki a diffrent turn in his career if he accepted to return at that moment.

If you look well he started to do the same thing to Fally Ipupa when he asked Koffi if he could record Droit de Veto back in 2004. With Koffi then accepting after pressure from his staff. Then he started to left Fally & Jordan Kusa behind for the concerts in Zimbabwe & Zambia and it was then reported that he was close to leave. But Ferre's arrival made Koffi slow the things little bit down to unsettle him in the band. If he did return with Quartier Latin in 2006 after Ferre's departure then he would go further with that strategy and let Soleil take the number two-spot. He already wrote a letter trought his advocate to block the release of Droit Chemin, which made Fally very angry and said before the show in Brussels in the Conrad-hotel with his staff that Fally had to leave since that he made alot of money with mabanga's (more than 40.000 euro's) and Fally saying to one of his close staffmembers at he would answer him in a dvd. This all made me think if that video of Bouya Mayola wasn't a set-up against Koffi to break his image during the succes of Droit Chemin. Because 6 years ago Koffi said that he and Bouya Mayola reconciled at his home and that he asked for forgeviness saying that.

Stephanie-Godelive was his offical wife, since the mid 80's but on the same he officialy married Aliane in 1993 in Paris. With Koffi and Stephie divorcing around 2002 and starting from then praising Aliane alot "Lettre A", etc. I remember Koffi saying back in 2001-02 that his family life was a big mess and having alot of regrets about that.

To be fair, most of the private lives of artists are messes and not what regular people would view as normal. Pretty wild to have two songs dedicated to two wives on the same album “Noblesse Oblige”.

I remember going to a press conference in the Ultimatum/Loi era and I was wondering who the young beautiful lightskin woman near him was. Back then he didn’t promote her at all in public like he does now, so it left people wondering. I believe at the time she only stayed in Europe.

Sukuzi's album will be a hard one to find, because it flopped when it came out almost twenty years ago...and I suspect that it is out of print.

How ever many units are distributed within the first couple years of it's release is likely all there is left.
