Defao could bring the whole band to Europe. It's the tour-promoter task to decide how many musicians to bring, because it's not his money and it's very expensive to bring alot musicians. Back in the days the most band were only bringing 4 singers, 3 guitarist (1 lead, 1 rhyhm, 1 bass), 1 drummer, 1 atalaku and a percussionist. I think also that Defao knew and was fearing on the same that some musicians would leave. Which also happened the whole band stayed in Europe hahahahaha. So he had to recruit a new guitartists and some singers.

What's the problem ?!!!! the money the bandleader and tourpromoter spent to bring you to Europe. Losing key bandmembers and start over again with recruiting musicians who aren't know. Don't you see how Koffi went down in 2006 by losing musicians and saying that he won't promote them anymore or in 1999 when he said that he would stop with music in 2000. Those artists will also get problems with the embassadies in Europe, don't you how all Congolese bands risked to get a 5 year ban in 2010 for musicians leaving Ferre, Fally & Werrason during their tours in Europe. This all made big events like Ferre Gola at Olympia, Fally Ipupa at Zenith being cancelled for not getting visa's. Felix Wazekwa not getting visa's for his concert at Zenith. They lucky that they went to lobby which made them getting visa's again, but then being unlucky that the combattans-ban just started. Another example is the departure of Les PPU which was one of the reasons of JB Mpiana getting a 5 year ban in Europe.

My english not very good, but alot of artists have to rent their houses and cars to the embassadies or tour-promoter if they want to tour for the first time. Werrason, Adolphe Dominguez and Didier Masela had to do something similair when they had to wanted to Wenge Maison Mere to Europe for the first in 1999. They strugelled alot, because for they announced like 3 or 2 times a tour in Europe but their request were all the time rejected. Reddy Amisi released in 2003 his album Compteur a Zero and it was then a succes with people in Europe keeping asking him why he don't bring his musicians (Piccasso, Marcahouse, Blaise Createur, Guy Bayaya, etc.) to Europe. With him giving those reasons of having to rent his houses and cars and risking to sell them if his musicians don't return. But people weren't understanding that. Those things are easier if they have alot of donors behind your back.
