Kipe Ya Yo was a good album, but the problem was just that generique wasn't recorded well and that one rhumba of new singers should have unsettled all the old guards of BCBG but of course it never happened...



JB Mpiana might be the king of wasted opportunities, because he let Pipiyus slip threw his fingers and kept the dead wieght that's JDL, Kibens, and Seguin smh

You are right on sir. JB Mpiana should have created two teams. He has a lot of money. He could have done that and he would have gotten bigger status as a legend.

You're right! All JB Mpiana had to do was follow the footsteps of his music idol, Papa Wemba. Wemba created Nouvelle Ecriture to feature a crop of younger musicans that could better compete against the younger boys in Wenge Musica and Quartier Latin.

JB Mpiana should have selected Patou Solo to replace Ficcare for the generique, because he pretty much played lead on every sebene on the album. Seguin should have never been accepted back into BCBG after his intially suspension for that violent altercation before Anti-Terror, but if JB should accept him then his place had to be shared equally with Blaise Esabe. Both could split evenly on the album who played drums like Titina and Cambodge did on Affaire d'Etat. There was a lot of things he could have done, but given how supportive the old guard was during his Amida situation...I knew he couldn't manage his band anymore. He's got a big heart, but you can't be the top guy in the industry with too big a heart.

I think collectively we were too harsh on the sound of the générique. The only real issue is Ficarre/Patou Solo being nearly inaudible (reminds me almost exactly of album  cut Solola Bien générique). The rest of the sound instrument arrangements and vocals are on point from that UK studio
