The second part of the interview, Tabu Ley talking about his trophees and gold records he received, saying that he doesn't make sense to brag about it (an attack towards Koffi, JB & Werra) because there people who received more than them. He also talked about his Olympia of 1970, saying that he was invited by the Olympia-administration (Bruno Coquatrix and his staff) and he didn't rent the hall like the way the musicians of today (JB, Werra, Koffi) do, to let turn their albums better, adding also that renting Bercy is to expensive. Saying that artists who performed at Bercy made big lose and that he bet that none of those leaders will perform at Bercy again, only musicians of the next generation (which also happened, nor Koffi, Werra, JB, Wemba performed at Bercy again).
I'm surprised to hear what Tabu Ley said about the Bercy-events. I thought that Koffi and Werra made some big money, especially Koffi (Depitcho and JF Ifonge even used to complain about the way Koffi received alot of money and them peannuts), but maybe it was for Koffi's part vital and not the concert-promoter. I only knew that JB Mpiana and Papa Wemba had some problems to rent the Bercy-hall. With Papa Wemba-staff's not knowing what to do, because they wanted to prove Werrason & Koffi Olomide a point that they also could perform at Bercy, looking for a concertpromoter and them finally convincing JDK-Decor, who was in King Kester Emeneya's staff to join their staff and financing their Bercy-project (scamming then the money of Kester's Longue Histoire, being then one of the producers of that album). But costs were to high and to compesate it, JDK brought alot of ngulu's to Europe , which would create alot of problems for him and Wemba, getting then very soon arrested along with Papa Wemba for the ngulu-affaire. About JB Mpiana, I remember that they had problems with renting the hall and the Congolese press who was mostly pro-werra, mocking them. With on some point, rumors being spread that the event would get cancelled, because of the money to rent not being paid on time. Until that Cardozo Mwamba paid some money and the press mocking JB again, saying that he would perform at bercy with "mbongo ya sangisa, sangisa". Werra's staff used always brag that Monsieur Yann (who orginally wanted to let Werrason perform at Forest National) made alot of money with the Bercy-event.
I'm still waiting for the video of Actu de Net about Bercy. Because they claim that no one filled Bercy in the early 2000s with the 17.000 configuration and not even the 11.000-configuration that Fally will perform very soon. This all made me wonder if Koffi, Papa Wemba, King Kester Emeneya and Werrason then really performed with the 6.000 configuration of Zenith de Paris, because its apparently also possible to perform with a smaller configuration at Zenith. "Selon l’événement, la capacité de la salle peut varier de 2000 à 6200 places grâce à un système de rideaux coulissants".
Imagine Actu de Net coming with the real numbers and Papa Wemba & JB Mpiana then turning out to have done it better at Bercy than Koffi and Werrason, because of them having performed with a bigger configuration.
