So it's basically like Wenger's reputation before he left Arsenal, when everyone was clowning him for destroying his own legacy. If I were Koffi, I wouldn't worry about trying to stay relevant with the youngers, trying to prove to the world that I'm still hungry even though I'm in my 60s (which I'm not BTW ). Now would be the time for him to rest on his laurels and try not to release music of variable quality every month.

Masta, you’ve been taking offense to any critique I have of Mopao. I happen to think he has the strongest discography of any artist post the père de la music moderne generations. I salute him for being relevant most of his 43 year career, but it doesn’t stop me from believing the music he puts out now is mostly garbage.

My other favorite legends such as Salif Keita, Youssou N’dour, and Wemba (RIP) have been relevant for just as long as Koffi (some longer), yet they put out very strong late albums because they took their time to produce quality over quantity. Salif Kieta’s last album is one of the best albums I’ve heard in recent years. Maître de Ecole was terrific along with Seeni Valeurs/Africa Rekk from Youssou because they took their time to make quality music
