Its simple he was hurt because they all formed a group together and also the fact that they actually went ahead with the plan and left, which is very odd. He wanted to unsettle them so that they could be done and finished because he knew if they formed a group they would be a huge threat to his career, and it wouldn't look good for him if more than 7 of his key members all left at the same time.

Yeah, that's true. People in Kinshasa had immediatly symphathy for Academia, after doing an interview with Zacharie Bababswe, saying that Koffi didn't pay them well for Olympia and Zenith. Many fans returning dissapointed when getting informed that Bouro, Modogo, Lebou, Sam and Pathy didn't return, while they kind of represented areas of Kinshasa. With as reaction a concert in an empty Stade des Martyrs and Koffi for the first time in his career having mpiaka at Intercontinental, who was normally always packed if he would perform there. The Stade des Martyrs of 1999 would hount Koffi for 3 years and him still not earning respect when having performed at Bercy, something that would have been different if it was today, where concerts abroad are more important that big concerts in Kinshasa. For example Marie Paul was voted best star of 1998, while Koffi being DRC's and Africa's pride when performing at Olympia and Zenith and receiving several prices abroad because of Loi.
