i would say it was bad, just like academia because artistically they were strong together and complimented each other very well
this actually works for 99,999999999 per cent of the splits which have happened in congolese music
the only guys for which the split is positive are guys who acheived PERSONAL fame and  career afterwards
you will never hear one of those guys say they had rather continue together
bill, ferre and  jdt the leaders had already show a big taste of their talent,so them continuing doing well artistically after split is no surprise but the split helped ferre become a big  leader with a lot of moeny and a much improved personal fame, bill aswell to a lesser extent, and jdt to a even lesser extent
 you see what i mean?

Absolutely the advantage is the income so that means the new leaders are able to pay the musicians easier and also freedom to do what they want went they want so that is major step for them in a personal stance but in true reflection it is not always the case if you look at Bill Clinton a server of Maison Mere (his maison mere days) he never had a house along with Mimiche Bass but when Les Marquis they were able to buy houses and etc whereas in Maison Mere the leader never paid well so on a personal sense again some leaders become too stingy and take advantage.
But for me what is important is the artistic skills since Les Marquis split I don't think there has been a album which competes with Miracles well Sens Inderit has a shout along Eluka Makambo but them as a group they were so good they were better than Wenge Musica Maison Mere especially with the line-up of singers 2nd voice Mabiala, Djo Lockis, Gemerose and JDT would batter maison mere line-up of second voice singers like Jitrois, Cappucino and Kabose and 1st voice you can't compare Ferre, Biva and Celezino to Heritier and co. so artistically they were miles ahead since that split I don't think they've released good albums but Bill Clinton did some good albums but with no good producer so for me I think in it was bad in terms of artisitic skills

I think it was good because now as solo artists we get to see what Ferre can really do and Bill and Jdt to a lesser extent, but Miracles is a very good album and I still listen to it once in a while.

It was bad 100%. No good thing about it. Group effort is key and if they were still together, I guess the big stars of Congo would be given max competition.
