We really Need to preserve our culture, now Rhumba Is becoming a UNESCO thing but we as Congolese people Need to do a Better job in preserving the gente because i Just checked and there are no books talking about Wenge QL, BCBG, Fabregas, Heritier, Ferrè, Fally etc. so how can we be Happy for.UNESCO. But at the same time lettino out gente being Lost without keeping track of It, for all the people here Who know the history of.our gente well, I want you to link up me for the next years so se can write a book about our gente.

There are many books about Congolese music. But most are in French. The popular book about the history of Congolese music in English is “Rumba on the River” by Gary Steward

Lol, Deplick. It’s because the interest people once had for Congolese music in the 70s, 80s, 90 and 2000s has shifted to Nigerian Music. Also Ferre Gola, Fally and Heritier don’t have the impact their elders had in Africa. They have done anything that changed our music. But I remember a guy writing a little aboutFally but itabout what happens behind the scenes and just short about Fally, mostly talking about JB Mpiana, Werrason & Koffi Olomidé.. Snitches about “Bana Londres”, talking about “Bana Lunda”, snitching about Zadio Kongolo & Mimi Tchikeva but giving them different names to protect their indentity. Explaing why Eboa Lotin changed his song Bulawayo which was giving to another donor to Adrien Mukiadi, revealing that concerts in Kinshasa are peanuts, etc.

Yes any person who has been in Wenge QL of recente times Whom Is going solo, It seems like except for interviews like the One of Ado Yuhe there aren't much moments.

There is a proverb, that goes something like: "If not you, then who?" If there are no books yet, maybe the moment was waiting for you to write it.

One thing I've noticed about Congolese people is that they love to dance and party to their music but have no courage and mind to preserve and write books about their own genre of music. same thing with accolades there is not a single award show in Congo honoring artist and promoting the genre....SAD
