Not really, you had MAMD, you Had Wosso, you had Se Na Se, Diemba,, you had Formidable, Se Na Se to me is a classic MAMD for certain trait can be considered a classic but yes outside them it is hard rn to see a classic generique hut it is also because a lot of Congolese people outside of Belgium and France are prefering to listen to Afrobeat the same way when Ndombolo was up a lot of other Africans preferenze to listen to Ndombolo

I love the generiques on Balle de match. But Congolese are failing to market themselves these days.

Lol all those generiques you just named are no where near memorable. Diemba I’ll give you that it was a hit but I don’t know if I’d say it’s a classic.

I'd say so. I've heard Zebuka at a few parties, but I wouldn't say it's classic seeing as it's fairly recent compared to LP2, which most people know the moves to.

The crazy think is that it was meant to be just one of the generiques and the kabuya one the main one, its only at last minute that it got taken more seriously and the whole first part changed in favour of the idea of eddy badiata of using old school animation to start the generique before kicking off properly and then from that fally rearranged a couple of things from the structure alvarito and cambodge had done
its early to call zebuka a classic but the different between zebuka and the other generique mentioned is that zebuka's animation had years of preparation in people's ears so there was less of a surprise effect,unlike out of nowhere ya mado libre parcours 2 and co

I think the other generique which was huge sucess was Nyataquance from
koffi and the one of Fabregas with his group after that all generique which came didnt have a big sucess as the old one.

Ferre should have taken more time to do 69, this generique got crazy potential.

And i think without covid allo telephone from Fally would have been bigger.

I think it’s the best générique of the 2010’s and agree nothing quite hit the same since. The shock factor of the générique at the time was quite something at the time. The Pentagone tribute brought the younger generation onto Wenge as well

Libre Parcours will be like the Talent Latent album, where casual listeners finally begin to appreciate the album 15-20 years later. A bit of a shame as the album is good and full of powerful sebene songs

Zebuka has grown a lot on people in the past year. I think it’ll go down as one of the more memorable génériques of this decade. A lot of events that I’ve gone to have had the song play and it’s a crowd pleaser

Unfortunately and very painfully it is the last classic even here in Zim people think Congolese musicians are nolonger singing cause they lack something that I even can’t explain.Even with Fally that is his last good generique Alli Telephone is just ok zero chemistry between the atalakus, Formula 7 one can fit in one of his waste ever,then ecole atalakus were given too much time each it had potential.
