I remember Celeo once saying in one of his interviews that the real plan of Wenge Maison Mère was to get Zing Kapaya, who was one of the best upcoming lead-guitarists in Bandalungwa, but he was unmotivated to go, which made them get his little brother Flamme Kapaya who was playing for Duc Herode.

The first time that I started to hear about him, was when he joined Wenge Tonya Tonya in 2002 and the new team of Tonya Tonya getting presented (Hadji Solo, Henry Matushima, Lady Muyembe, Thierry Finite, etc.). Then I didn't hear about him anymore until I saw him playing rhythm in the video with Flamme Kapaya and a few years later after that Celeo saying that he invited him to play lead on his generique Ici c'est Paris, since that Flamme became a brother in christ and him wanting to record a generique in Kinshasa, since that according him, inspirations lies in Kinshasa and animations coming from Bandundu & Bas-Congo.

Did he refuse because he didn't believe Masion Mere had a chance at competing against BCBG? That's somewhat understandable because JB was on another level after the success of his solo album. Remember, Chou Lay left because he didn't believe in Werrason either

I don't think that he didn't believe in Maison Mère. Back at that time many youngsters were dreaming to breakthrough with their bands like Wenge 4x4  did in 1990 and when Wenge split, alot refused to join Wenge Maison Mère and later Wenge BCBG when they came back, just in the hope to make it one day. But after 2001 many decided to give up and stopped with music or tried to join Wenge BCBG, Wenge Maison Mère, Wenge Tonya Tonya, Quartier Latin, etc. but it was already to late for most of them

Chou Lay didn't left because of not believing in Werrason. He joined Maison Mère months later after it's creation, from Europe with Japonais. The thing that made leave him was that he wasn't getting along with Ferre Gola, who he was suspecting of doing spiritual attacks and his friend Jus d'Ete Mulopwe as well, who started to see him as rival with the 'mikiliste' role. Then there was also the massive pressure of being Evoloko's son and people being dissapointed of him not seeing like his dad, being a 2ème voix singer and his singing-skills at that time also not helping, which made many people seeing him as a faux chanteur. The nail of the coffin was the trip to Cabinda, where they travelled with a truck which had chickens, cows and pigs. Them also being dirty since that the route of Kinshasa- Matadi - Boma - Moanda not being well anymore. They did concerts in Matadi and when coming in Cabinda, Choulay lost his underwear and him believing that a collegue did it do elimiate him spiritually. So when he returned in Kinshasa he made an interview in Karibu Variete to announce his departure. But many at that time just said that he left because he wasn't able to sing with the rest. He tried to get back to Europe, but he got stuck because he didn't had papers. He then joined Didier Masela to following year, but left when seeing that the band hadn't a future. After that he tried to join Wenge Tonya Tonya with the influence of coming from the Yolo-neighboorhood, but for whatever reason it didn't work. Not long after that he joined Zaiko and it's there were he was accepted and with them he managed to get back in Europe after 4 years.
