A few years ago, Didier Massela angrily said that Aimé Buanga used to be his backup bass player when he was asked who the real founder of Wenge Musica was between the two of them. Now, in 2026, Pipo La Musica, while speaking about the instrumentalists, confirmed that Didier Massela was indeed Wenge Musica’s main bass player and that Aimé Buanga was his backup.

Mbuta Likasu seemed surprised by this and asked how a founder could be a backup bass player. Pipo La Musica explained that Wenge Musica initially only performed during school holidays. During the school year, Didier Massela was attending a boarding school in Mbanza Mboma, where he was able to play bass throughout the year. Aimé Buanga, on the other hand, was studying at a boarding school in Kisantu and did not play any instrument until he returned to Kinshasa. As a result, he fell behind musically, which explains why Didier Massela became the main bass player.

Some year ago, Zing Zong made an interview, I don't if it was with Ado Yuhe or someone else and he was really mad about Alain Makaba and in that interview he acted like he thought Alain Makaba everything and that he recorded his guitar-licks on tape. But in this interview Pipo la Musica, said that Zing Zong had his own repetoire and Alain Makaba as well and that they weren't playing songs of each other. So when Zing Zong decided to stop playing for Wenge, as his parents promised him to bring him to Europe if he would not do music anymore, Wenge had problems. So in order to solve it, Makaba went to Zing Zong, to know his reperetoire in order to play it well and Zing Zong advising him to record it on tape, to rehearse it well at home.

I excepted Werra-fans to react angry, because in the way he explained the story, it seems that Wenge's mainstars in the singing section were JB Mpiana, Deno Star and Wes Koka. He also said that Deno Star had the stage-antics of Evoloko and Gina Efonge, by saying funny stuff like "ca commence a viendre" , etc. I remember Deno Star once doing an interview and claiming that he was Wenge Musica's mainstar and JB Mpiana's rise just starting when he left. Pipo la Musica also  claims that Werrason is from 1964 and not 1965, being 3 years older than JB Mpiana and many in the comments approving it.

It was an intresting interview, but it seems that it wasn't finished because he didn't talk about Bouger Bouger, the trip to Europe, etc.

i think what will be pissing some werrasoniques more(the congolese ones especially) is where he talks about jb and  zing bringing the victoria influence,while a lot of congolese werrasoniques go by the logic that since wenge=werra and werra=kester and his antics,it means wenge got any fame because of werra and he is the sole reason why wenge copied victoria since for them its his solo group from the start anyways lol while not only the influence can be shared by several people as it was the case for kester,with jb zing werra marie paul alain mpela and a bit blaise being fans of kester,while makaba masela were more into zaiko,but also a solid group like wenge would naturally be made of several influences,same thing happened with extra musica the defence being pro zaiko,oxygene being a big choc stars big stars fan,quentin with more of a foreign influence since he grew up in cuba  fall more of a viva guy and so on,but the thing is that some and i insist some congolese werrasoniques love taking 100 per cent of the credits to werra alone

What happen to Deno Star and Wes Koka?

deno became a pastor in 86 or somewhere like that and stayed friends with the wenge guys even going to preach jb and werra during peak war,wes koka who came form a wealthy family was sent to europe to study and stayed there since

Now I understand why the anger against Maradona came from. If I was Werrason or JB Mpiana, I would hate him for life, for what he did during the 24 confrontations against Victoria Eleison. Not being happy with the amount of salary receiving, isn't a reason to behave like that. I believe that it's just because of Makaba being there that he was still in Wenge 4x4. I would like to hear Maradona's version.

I was surprised to hear that the song Filandu being actually an old song from the late 1980s. I already a feeling that Eve Sukali wasn't an arrangement coming from Makaba, when hearing the sebene. It's crazy how such talented artists that join bands that  breakthrough, only to leave after quickly after it, always dissapear from the radar. It must be frustrating to see the main solist of the band play your arrangements and creations. It make sense why Makaba was letting Maitre Fi-Carré playing Ave Maria during concerts, when they came for Europe-tour 1992. I wonder if the song Dady Bitodi was arranged by Ntumba or Aridjana. Is Aridjana the same guy that later joined Wenge Maison Mère briefly in the beginning and spent a short time in Shora Mbemba's Super Choc ?

Who's Kinsala Fulgance ? Is he Titina's courtjester ? I noticed that he has always to attack other drummers. Nobody talked in this interview about Titina. I remember once uploading a video about Djudjuchet being mad about what was going on in Kinshasa and he suddenly started to insult him and saying that Titina being a better drummer than him
