It’s a very well crafted and varied album - with the exception of 1-2 of the génériques, it was a no-skip, repeat listen album. Making a top 5 list of songs is not easy. In this he took after Koffi in his prime works of having no 2 songs sounding the same

Ill probably get flammed, but I think is for me is my favorite all-round album from Fally. It’s unfortunate we occasionally hear songs from this album played live. I was pleasantly surprised when he performed Tsho in a recent mini-concert. Droit Chemin was a legendary debut, but A2BM was a matured sophomore follow up.

Not that Formule 7 is a bad album per say, like what was alluded to in a recent thread, he’s shifted his focus to making music around the millionaires and WAGS shelling out big money rather than making fresh sounding and memorable songs. Hopefully XX proves us wrong, but I have my doubts

I do agree,it gives me the same feeling as v12 where each of them found the good formula for sebene just after,put loi or ultimatum with dossier du jour and co near perfect,same here put libre parcours2 or original plus like one of the sebene songs of fvicteam group album great combo again
many songs have up to 10 times the population of some countries after that album,but the raw emotion of tsho deliberation and co still gets me more than recent stuff

It was a really good sophomore album songs like Tsho and Deliberation still hold a special feeling to me lol. I also think all three of the generiques have aged better with time.
Out of all his albums Control he was definitely least inspired because he was still over the moon about the tokoss music he was doing, and it felt like he just did Control to satisfy his rhumba audience. I mean during his press run for Control he was already talking about doing Tokoss 2 which was insane. Not to say Control was bad it really wasn't and it had great songs in there but he became more inspired in Formule 7.

I agree with you Matebu. Actually this album really made Fally Ipupa a superstar without doubt. Just to make an anology to v12, there are a few songs where Beniko Popolipo played on including most notably Nyokalesse. Also, there was Rigo Star who was the main guitar man on the song Mon Amour. I believe that Maika Munan arranged this album. This album was well executated. I think that this was the last time Rigo Star appeared on a Congolese album. There is Quartier Latin influence on this classic album.

Yeah, this album had Maika Munan as arranger. I think that it was a mistake from Fally, to appoint himself as artistic director/arranger of Power and not  Maika's participation on that album. Not saying that Power was a bad album, but it was not on the level of A2BM and Droit Chemin. Also different songs were sounding the way, which wasn't the case on his two first albums

In Quartier Latin, who was the artistic director on those albums? Do you think group leaders should avoid that role? At best, group leaders should share it with their most trusted member. It's kinda like how Alain Makaba and Titina helped balance JB Mpiana's creative vision for those important albums from 1997-2001, Japonais and Flamme during their tenure with Wenge Masion Mere.

Even if Fally wanted to switch things up, he should have contacted Leny Biden or JC Tshituka. But Fally's mindset creating Power is different from A2BM and Droit Chemin, the conditions are much more comfortable and the fans are cement, so he's got a lot less to prove.

Leny Bidens and JC Tshituka participated on Power. Ndoki was for example arranged by Leny Bidens. I believe that Fally had started to become stingy as a big part of the album was funded by himself. Different tracks sound like they were recorded in a home studio. I remember people  complaining that quality of the clips until the following year, rumors being spread that Fally requested x amount money for donors to have both and song and videoclip for the album and y amount money for just a song on Power.

On Koweit Rive Gauche, Noblesse Oblige, V12 and Loi, Koffi was collaborating both with Maika Munan and Phillipe Guez. Although Maika and Philppe Guez being credited as arranger on these albums, Koffi Olomidé was crediting himself as 'realisateur' (artistic director), while albums like Nouvelle Ecriture, Pole Position, Foridoles, Prudence and Ziggy of Papa Wemba, Viva la Musica and Reddy Amisi had Maika Munan credited as "realisateur". These are the reasons why Koffi that chose Koffi's side, during the Wemba vs Koffi beef, that Koffi was a bigger artist than Wemba, because he was himself credited "realisateur", "composer", "auteur", etc. While on tracks of Wemba, you would often see "compositeur"Maika Munan/auteur:Papa Wemba" and Wemba himself openly acknowleding ghostwriters like Felix Wazekwa, Pascal Poba, Colombani Wasenga, etc.  in  interviews.  We don't what Koffi's role in the studio was and what he exactly does, but according different QL-members, he was following every thing in detail and dictating singers how to sing

enjoyed this album really liked sexy dance, the record with olivia is super dope straight up rnb, travelling love classic rumba but its not my favorite fally album  its a 3-3.5/5 type album and better than anything he was dropped since 2013 imo
