Reddy explains that koffi was not really a member of viva but participated in some concerts and benefited from exposure of viva and later launch solo career
he refutes fact he was part of those who left to create nouvelle generation but admits he decided to miss a concert to express disagreement with le nkuru and when he need them for his album he called them and it did not bother papa wemba
he does not believe one of the groups who pretend they pay musicians well because musicians always leave because of money and explains that the income of concerts over the past recent years has gone down a lot,so much that to fill halls 90 per cent of the seats are free tickets shared to friends
ado then asks him why he has a "powerful and agressive" style of singing,and reddy replies(while imitating koffi's voice) that koffi told him the same thing recently and that unlike other congolese musicians he is not much into trying to sing with "tenderness"
he admits its his style and that he writes his songs himself and if there was somebody doing for him he would have gone on tv long ago and says his songs are heavily about society,giving a lot of advice
then reddy explains origin of the name "bailo canto" saying its a part of one song,then wemba called him like that and his colleagues(richacha,awilo and co) were taunting him with that and with time he got used to it and the name is linked with him for ever now
talking about wemba he says he has massive respect for him he says he owes him a lot and stayed with him for almost 2 decades and was very well treated and if he is like he is today it has much to do with wemba so he is like a big brother or a father for him
after reddy talks about funerals in congolese music,and laments the fact not only musicians but also congolese people in general struggle to stay together for a longtime,they always fall out for this or that so they cant even unite and make good projects go far(alluding in music to that fact their union of maisha which had idea for example of each contributing an amount of money which will be saved somewhere and used in case of funerals of a colleague for example)
he says those death like kester or babia recently should make musicians stop thinking they will be eternal and not caring about people until the worse has happened to them
and he clearly bemoans the fact some musicians still have logics like if x is there i wont go to those funerals(or if all stars are already there so that he can arrive as the biggest star of them and make people focus on him)
ado yuhe then says" but there is a "patron de la musique congolaise ,isnt it?) and reddy tells him to stop that BS(in his usual straight talk style) because there is no musician who pays musicians from other groups,who gives other musicians money to rent their house or who has paid an hefty fee to hospitals so that any of the musicians get treatment "for free",or a musician who has paid school fees of all the chlidrens of musicians of congo.... so if koffi believes he is the patron let it be like that in his own head but dont use it with other artists( and gives example of jb who was once called marechal for example talking about how some artists give themself big
nicknames) because its when one artist uses his nickname with much noise towards colleagues that it creates polemic
he insists on the problem of organization within congolese people not just in music and gives example of mali and senegal guys living in europe who thanks to good organization have united and have done good projects together like school and that unfortunately those type of things do not happen with us due to our mentaility,then talks about SOCODA still maintaing his anger for the lack of good management and stealing money
he also explains how combattants went to his home in france but he says they did him nothing bad and he clearly says if one of the big name musicians had refused to sing for kabila( djodjo b kosilika té lol) they would be in deep trouble
ado asks reddy why he has no tatoos or signs of a flashy looks like most of the congolese musicians,and he says first of all he is not a fashion addict but he tries to dress properly like he learned in viva but he likes to keep it very natural because he is a natural man
he prefers his music to attract people's attention rather than changeing his looks to adapt to others,because there are artists who have flashy looks but are poor singers and that wemba did not expect his musicians to be as flashy as he can be but to be serious at work and just dress well
